Girl Scout Troop 69-279 out of Ellettsville, IN has built a permanent food pantry for those in need in our community, and surrounding areas.
What was meant to be a small pantry, grew uncommonly fast and currently feeds around 11000+ individuals a month. Pantry 279, the Pantry with TLC was conceived, built, stocked, and ran by the cadet Girl Scouts of Troop 69-279. They, with the help of the Leader, Parents, and Trinity Lutheran Church in Ellettsville Indiana have built a permanent food pantry for those in need in our community and sur
rounding areas. Hours of Operation are currently Mon, Tues, Wed 3-6 and Sat 1-3. With Additional hours for Senior Citizens and Disabled on Tues 1:30 - 4 and a clothing pantry on Thurs 11-4 ( No food at Clothing pantry ) Hours are subject to change due to weather and emergencies, we will always post this on our page. We are ALWAYS in need of non-perishable food and toiletry donations, especially baby food and feminine products. Tax deductible cash donations are also accepted, yes are are a 501c3. Donations can be dropped off to Pantry 279 3609 SR 46, Bloomington, IN 47404 ( we are between Urban Air and El Ranchero ) If it's after hours, we have 2 wooden donation boxes in back, look for our purple walking and bright green door by the loading dock. , Mailed to our mailing address at Pantry 279 P.O. We also always need help and anyone over the age of 10 can volunteer without parent, or over the age of 4 with a parent or guardian. Pre pandemic, we were serving around 3500 people a month, post pandemic the need jumped to around 9000+ people and month, and with the current high prices and state of the 2023 economy, we are currently servicing around 9500+ people A MONTH! We prefer those needing food to come to the pantry, which is back to indoor client choice OR park, call and a box can be brought out to you, but understand some are homebound, for those 100% homebound individuals, we offer limited delivery in the Bloomington and Ellettsville, area. In the Summer, we have our Children's Summer Food Program, watch the site for info on this great way to get food for kids when school is out for summer. During Thanksgiving we have the Thanksgiving Box program, and sign up starts Sept 1. Finally our ELF Dispatch Children's Gifting Program is a much loved and very fun holiday program, sign up for both Santas and Parents is always the Monday after Thanksgiving Day. Pantry 279 is filled with caring and fun, we hope you find a way to join us in some way, even if it's just sharing our info. and hitting that LIKE button!

As a follow up from our trip to DC, our district Bread For The World representatives will be at pantry today listening and taking letters of how hunger is affecting you. We welcome them and are eager for everyone to tell them how issues with WIC, SNAP, high costs of food, etc has affected their family.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to IU for allowing us to participate in the Resource Fair. We truly appreciate the opportunity to connect with your third-shift employees and share information about our programs and the services we provide.
It was a pleasure to meet so many members of your team, answer their questions, and let them know how we can support them. Thank you for your hospitality and for helping us reach individuals who may benefit from our programs.
We appreciate your partnership and look forward to future opportunities to work together.

📢 Last Week of the Children’s Summer Food Program! 🍎☀️
This is the last week of our Children’s Summer Food Program!
Please note that the Bloomington North location has already completed its program and is no longer serving meals.
If your family still needs meals this week, you’re welcome to visit one of our other participating locations while supplies and service continue.
Please be sure to thank our wonderful sponors, The Law Offices of Ken Nunn Law Office, Law Office pf Paul Baugh, Ellettsville House of Prayer, Crossroads Unites Methodist church, Lawrence County Community Foundation, SCI REMC and Jack Hopkins Grant. Without them, we couldn't have served all of the families we did.
Thank you to everyone who joined us this summer. We hope you have a safe, fun, and healthy rest of your summer! 💛
