The Best Horses in Heaven, They Have No Tail

by Miska Paget

“The best horses in Heaven
they have no tail.
This is a rule they all know
without fail.
For when a new horse arrives
with a short cut bob,
they all know that this horse
did a very good job.

His owner could not bear
to part with her friend
so she saved his tail,
wrapped in ribbons
and in braids,
to hold with his memory
in a very loving way.

To enter Heaven
without a tail
is an honor,
a message,
that without fail
announces to everyone,
far and wide
that this horse
was more than a wonderful ride.

But
this horse was loved and cherished by one
and when his time serving on this Earth was done
he left behind
a broken heart
and a soul
from which he never will part.“

I consider lesson planning to be one of the foundations of good instruction. Before each session, I map out the skills we’ll focus on, the challenges we’ll tackle, and the stretch goals that keep riders progressing with intention. Years of studying horsemanship and refining my teaching approach shape this process, and it’s a core part of the Rebel Hearts Ranch Horsemanship & Riding Academy experience! Does it always go to plan? Nope! Flexibility and mental agility are also key.
If you’re an instructor who values thoughtful, professional lesson design, I’d love to connect and share ideas. 💡

Come trot around on Drifter with me! And check out my sweet WhinneyWear saddle! I’ve had it since 2023 I believe and it rides great. I hope you are getting some beautiful weather like we are here! What’s your fav time of day to ride?

Don’t let the unknown keep you from chasing the things you want 💚

And some days, you just need a really good ba****ck trot session with your best bud. Kaylynn enjoyed the lovely weather yesterday during her lesson on Titan 💚

Y’all, the cuteness! So sweet. 🥹💚🤍 This little one came for a Greet and Groom and groomed Pistol, painted his hooves, fed treats, and tried her hand at mucking a stall.
