Rugged Research hosted its 1ST EVER In-School Field Trip last Thursday at Hillside Elementary School in Farmington, MI for 105 2nd graders!!
A blast was had by all exploring the woods behind the school, discovering how we can ‘Notice Nature’ all around us!

Springtime salamander migration is officially underway! As we approach the end of March, several species of salamander are in the midst of making the annual trek back to their vernal pool breeding grounds. SUMMER CAMP REGISTRATION 2026 IS OFFICIALLY OPEN!!!

Rugged Research Metro Detroit will be offering 2 sessions of Summer Camp for the 2026 season! Camp sessions will be offered June 15-19, 2026 with an AM BLOCK (9am-12pm) and a PM BLOCK (1-4pm).
Campers aged 6 -11 years of age are encouraged to join us for a week of daily hikes and outdoor adventures in the Michigan wilderness. Camps will be held at Orion Oaks County Park in Lake Orion, MI.
