We are in the final days of middle school! A few reminders:

-Students that qualify will be bowling tomorrow afternoon.
-Locker cleanout is tomorrow morning.
-Chromebook collection is tomorrow morning. Students need to have cases labeled (ID in slot) and chargers neatly wrapped.
-We recommend students bring a refillable water bottle for field day on Tuesday.
-Students must wear socks for the inflatables.
-Sunscreen is recommended for Tuesday.
-Franks Fries is cash only if students are buying from the food truck.
-We encourage students to wear their new class tshirts on Tuesday.

We are excited to celebrate with this group!

The big day has finally arrived! Job Shadow Day is tomorrow, May 20th. Students will not be in attendance as they will be at their job shadow locations. We are excited to hear about their experiences when they return on Thursday!

A few reminders:

-8th Graders that qualify for the bowling trip on June 1st need to have money turned in to Mr. McKibben by May 8th (this Friday).

-Job Shadow Day is coming up May 20th. Make sure students have transportation to and from their locations. Students will NOT be at school on this date as they will be going to their work locations to shadow for part or most of the day. Remember, students are required to shadow for at least four hours.

-If any student will be working this summer, they need to obtain a work permit from Mrs. Peters (HS guidance office upstairs) and have it signed by the school and the employer.

Less than 20 school days remain! Go Royals!

State Testing starts this week!

-Free hot breakfast in the cafeteria on Testing days.
-Bring a water bottle.
-Get some rest!
-Bring chargers for Chromebooks.

State Testing will be every Wednesday and Thursday until the end of April.

A few important announcements:

1. 8th grade will be going to PENTA Wednesday, March 4th. Students should bring cash or a payment card along to buy lunch at McDonald's, Wendy's, or Arby's. Phones are not allowed on field trips per state law.

2. The middle school dance is coming up March 13th at 5:00. Tickets go on sale March 9.

3. 8th Grade Job Shadow proposals are due March 30 (the day we return from spring break). This is a required project and forms must be handed in by this date to make sure every student has a placement.

Parents/Guardians: This is the final reminder that the 2026 Job Shadow Day meeting will be held next Monday, November 24th at 6:30 in Mrs. Bratt's room (127). This is not required, but highly recommended if you have never had a previous student participate.
