We offer our deepest sympathies to the families and loved ones of the two young lives tragically lost due to an avoidable act. ☦️ Drunk driving is an inexcusable crime! The lack of accountability perpetuated by New York State's no bail reform and lenient laws is unacceptable, particularly in cases of murder!

The sentence imposed in this case was a gross miscarriage of justice, a slap in the face to the victims and their families, who must navigate a lifetime of grief. Losing a child is a pain that cannot be alleviated by parole. Meanwhile, perpetrators are afforded multiple opportunities to reoffend, with many being released early on parole.

When will this cycle of injustice cease? When will our politicians, government, and state officials reform the no bail reform laws? It is essential that we hold criminals accountable for their actions. The current system is failing, as offenders continue to commit the same crimes, only to be released and reoffend. Perhaps stricter sentencing for first-time offenders would deter them from committing subsequent crimes. Clearly, the no bail reform is not serving its intended purpose of protecting the public and law enforcement. Instead, it is enabling criminals to continue their destructive behavior.

May Nicholay and Anya rest in peace. Царство небесное! 🙏🏼 We pray that God grants their loved ones the strength to live their lives to the fullest until they are reunited again in the end.

Larisa Karassik 10 Year Anniversary Memorial

Rockland County Executive Ed Day proclaimed May 23, 2025 as a day we rememeber resident Larisa Karassik who's life was tragically cut short 10 years ago by a drunk driver when she was just 13 years old.

The proclamation was presented at an event for the Larisa Karassik Foundation that was created in Larisa's honor to educate our youth about the dangers of drunk driving.
