Welcome, Brad Dieterich!

Blanchester Local Schools is excited to welcome Brad Dieterich as our new Middle School Intervention Specialist!

Originally from Cincinnati, Brad earned his degree from the University of Maine at Presque Isle and brings a wealth of unique experiences to our district. Before joining Blanchester, he spent four years teaching abroad, an opportunity that allowed him to connect with students from diverse backgrounds and grow both personally and professionally.

Brad and his wife, Vanna, along with their son, Jefferson, are excited to become part of the Blanchester community. Outside of school, he enjoys traveling, exploring new places, and spending time playing video games.

Brad is passionate about helping students succeed and is looking forward to building meaningful relationships with the students and families of Blanchester. Please join us in giving him a warm Wildcat welcome!

📚 Middle School Open House is Almost Here!

We can't wait to welcome everyone back!

🗓 Tuesday, August 18🕕 6:00–7:00 PM

During Open House, students can:
✅ Meet their teachers
✅ Pick up their class schedule
✅ Find their classrooms and lockers
✅ Pick up their locker lock

Parents can also:
✔️ Pay school fees in the middle school cafeteria
✔️ Get bus route information from the Transportation Department

Please note: Chromebooks will be distributed on the first day of school, not during Open House.

Students should report to the room below based on their grade level and last name to pick up their schedule:

Welcome, Ellie Craig!

Blanchester Local Schools is thrilled to welcome Ellie Craig as our new 8th Grade English Language Arts teacher at Blanchester Middle School!

Ellie is a graduate of Wilmington College, where she earned her degree in Education and English with a minor in Theatre. Throughout her college years, she gained valuable experience serving as a resident assistant, working as a barista, and teaching dance—roles that helped strengthen her leadership, communication, and creativity.

When she's not in the classroom, Ellie enjoys getting lost in a good book, taking walks, and spending time with family. She comes from a large family with five older siblings, and her two nephews are proud students at Putman Elementary.

Ellie is excited to inspire a love of reading and writing while building meaningful relationships with her students. Please join us in giving her a warm Wildcat welcome as she begins her journey with Blanchester Local Schools!

Transportation is vital to keeping our schools running smoothly, and right now, we are in urgent need of school bus drivers for the upcoming school year.

Our bus drivers are often the very first and last Blanchester staff members our students see every day. They play a huge role in setting a positive tone for our kids, keeping them safe, and getting them to school ready to learn.

Please join us in welcoming April Meyer to Blanchester Local Schools as our new Middle School Intervention Specialist!

April earned her K–12 Intervention Specialist licensure from Franklin University and brings a unique background in education, having previously worked as both a social worker and a paraprofessional. Her passion for supporting students and helping them reach their full potential makes her a wonderful addition to our middle school team.

Originally from Monroe, April has strong ties to the Blanchester community through her husband, who grew up here. Together they have three children and are excited to be part of the Wildcat family.

When she's not at school, April enjoys spending time with her family, tackling home improvement projects, swimming at the YMCA, and exploring the outdoors through hiking. One of her favorite adventures was hiking to Dream Lake at over 10,000 feet in elevation while carrying her 9-month-old baby!

We're excited to welcome April to Blanchester Local Schools and look forward to the positive impact she'll have on our students and school community. Welcome to the Wildcat family!

🎬 A new season begins...

As one chapter comes to a close, another is just beginning.

Our outgoing superintendent has helped build a strong foundation for Blanchester Local Schools through steady leadership, dedication, and a commitment to our students, staff, and community. Now, we're excited to welcome our new superintendent as they pick up the baton and continue moving our district forward.

Blanchester has worked hard to become the district it is today, and we are proud of what we've built together. That momentum doesn't stop here.

Stay tuned over the coming weeks as you'll hear messages from both leaders. They will reflect on where we've been, celebrate where we are, and share the vision for where we're headed next.
