Lower Mainland Families: Rent Help Just Got Easier to Qualify For
BC recently expanded the Rental Assistance Program. As of April 2025, the income limit jumped from $37,240 to $60,000, and you no longer need employment income to qualify.
If you're a working family in the Lower Mainland paying more than 30% of your income on rent, you might get monthly help. The program pays a portion of the gap between 30% of your income and your actual rent.
Apply if you have household income under $60,000, assets under $100,000, and aren't receiving income assistance.
