Bonding with Animals through Recreation on Campus (BARC)

BARC is Virginia Tech's best club for animal lovers. We work with the Vet School we share campus with to help walk the puppies that live there!

BARC is a student organization that’s purpose is to enrich the lives of the many animals housed by Virginia Tech and the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. The primary goal for the club is enhancing the dog-walking and training programs for the dogs in the teaching program at the vet school.

Did you miss us at Gobblerfest? Are you still interested in BARC and want to learn more? Send us an email at [email protected]

BARC is a club that works with the vet school. Each fall semester the vet school gets 40 new beagles and it's our job to walk them, play with them, and socialize them (basically all the fun parts of having a puppy). The only club requirements are $5 dues each semester, walking the dogs at least 4 times a semester, and a one-time training session that will help you get acclimated to the vet school. Let us know if you have any questions and we'd love to hear from you!
