Someone once told me as a kid that I had chicken legs. I stopped wearing shorts or short skirts after that.
I dreamed of having lean legs. I often imagined getting plastic surgery just to get them.
I'm still not 100% confident. But I've come a long way through improving my relationship with food and fitness. Lifting has given me more confidence in myself and my abilities.
And I've finally realized that the only opinion about my body that matters is mine.
This outfit might not look that special to you, but for me, it's everything. A short dress (for me) - who is this girl?! Knee high boots (that I was actually able to buy in store and not from a specialty wide-calf store?) - what?!
It might have taken me 39 years to get here, but it's never too late to change your story, right?
It's never too late to feel amazing in your skin; to find your inner strength and confidence ✨️ 💪

I hear it all the time... "I don't eat that much but I'm still gaining weight!"
If you're gaining weight, the hard truth is that you're probably consuming more calories during the day than you think you are.
Eyeballing portion sizes is extremely inaccurate.
The palm-method is ok, but inaccurate. Using measuring spoons and cups is better, but measurements vary and can still be inaccurate.
Weighing your food is the best way to 100% guarantee you're eating exactly what you intend.
When your goal is to lose weight, this can be especially critical for a couple of reasons.
1. Guaranteeing that you're actually in a calorie deficit
2. Ensuring you're getting the right ratios of macronutrients
3. Helping make sure you reach your weight loss goals sooner, so that you're not in a calorie deficit forever.
