It's time to make the commitment to no longer suppress your emotions. What can we do to allow that space of restriction to heal? To allow ourselves to FEEL?

When we allow ourselves to feel, to be, to experience our emotions, THIS is the ultimate form of self-care. We spend so much time trying to avoid our emotions because we think they show weakness, or we're afraid to be vulnerable, or we may be avoiding experiencing a certain level of emotion out of discomfort. But this allowance, this release, moves us forward towards healing.

Today, I invite you to try these 3 ways to honor your emotions:

1️⃣ Start by creating safety within

2️⃣ Honor the uncomfortable emotions

3️⃣ Feel what you want to feel

Ready to take this experience to the next level? Emotions are meant to move through us. They're meant to be felt. THIS is why I'm opening up Emotional Mastery, a self-paced course to guide you through honoring your emotions and feeling how you want to feel. Because your emotions deserve to be felt and expressed, not hidden. Doors are officially open, and you can get your hands on the Emotional Mastery course right now by clicking the link in bio.

I used to be told that I was "aggressive". Not assertive, aggressive.

This sassy barbie was a lot of my personality at one point in my life

That's because I had walls up and I didn't know how to control my emotions. I would let my anger pop out any time I became triggered.

It felt uncontrollable, and it was for a period of time. I had no idea how to stop myself from lashing out, yelling, or having this mean look on my face.

But then I learned how to master my emotions.

I learned that I don't have to be consumed by my anger, resentment, frustration. I can choose to be different.

It didn't happen overnight. It took a lot of help, time, and energy; but I learned how to be happy, joyful, and peaceful instead.

Now those emotions are what I normally feel. I'm no longer consumed by my anger because I learned how to acknowledge it, understand it, process it, and release it.

These steps are key in mastering your emotions.

I'm so happy and thankful that I took the steps to do so because it was exhausting living with that level of negativity in my body.

"Negative" emotions are a part of life but they don't have to rule your life.

Do you feel like you're stuck in the past? That you can't move forward?

It’s important to keep in mind that everyone has a past. Not all our pasts are the same but we all have them. What we do need to do is learn from it so we don’t repeat the cycles that harm us and prevent us from growing.

These tips may help you break the cycle and let go of your past trauma. Right now tell yourself you can and you will heal.

👉🏻 Change your mindset. If you find that you tend to focus on the negative, you will quickly follow those thoughts further and further into more negative thoughts. One feeds the next. When you find yourself plagued with negative thoughts, acknowledge the thought then let it go by focusing on something positive. Could be as simple as noticing a child laugh while playing or how soft the fur is under your hand as you pet a dog or cat. Stop the negative thought, breathe, then consciously shift your mind into a different reality.

👉🏻 Tell yourself it’s okay to say no. Single most important word you should have in your vocabulary is no. It’s okay to say no to doing things or being around people you prefer not to be around. It’s okay to protect yourself and your emotions. It is your right to simply say no. No explanations needed.

👉🏻 Eliminate toxic people from your life. There are some people that if you tell them the sky is a beautiful blue and the sun is shining, they’ll tell you no it’s black and it’s going to rain. For you to move forward on your journey and break negative cycles and patterns, you need to remove people from your life that bring you back to the place you’re working so hard to get out of.

👉🏻 Set goals for yourself. One of the best ways to leave the past behind is to focus on your goals for the future.

👉🏻 Learn to forgive. It’s often one of the most difficult things to do, but when we forgive those that have hurt us, we free ourselves of the ties that bind us. Forgive them for YOUR health and wellness.

You can’t move forward if you’re continuing to live in the past. One step at a time, leave it behind and focus on the beautiful future that awaits you with open arms.

When we're connected and in tune with our emotions, we're better equipped with whatever life may throw our way. Facts.

But so many of us disconnect from our emotions or try to hide them.

We think emotions make us look weak (when we cry), b*tchy (when we get angry), or too eager (when we're excited). We believe we should be on this base level of "happy" all the time.

That couldn't be further from the truth.

Emotions are meant to move through us. They're meant to be felt.

THIS is why I'm opening up Emotional Mastery, a self-paced course to guide you through honoring your emotions and feeling how you want to feel. Because your emotions deserved to be felt and expressed, not hidden.

You can hop onto the waitlist right now and purchase it at the discounted price by clicking the link in my bio.

Let's give you the emotional tune-up your higher self has been begging you for.

Do you feel like you're doing EVERYTHING to feel better but NOTHING is working?

Jenah did too!

In this video, Jenah explains that, "No matter how much therapy I was in, no matter how much meditation I was doing, no matter how much I exercised and ate well and did all the thing Is thought would help me heal, nothing ever went deep enough."

She realized that those healing tools, while important, are also surface level when not combined with deep healing work. The deep work is what helps you get to the root of your issues.

When you can get to the root, you can finally heal - for real!

This is the type of work I do in my 1:1 Coaching. The deep work. The real work.

You know if you're ready to go there. You know if you're done with surface level bu****it and if you're finally ready to feel better. I'm talking directly to those of you who know!

I have limited availability for 2022 1:1 spots opening up.

If you're ready to go deep like Jenah so you can finally let go of everything that's been holding you back, if you're ready to FEEL GOOD - DM me "READY" and we'll have a chat 💚

The New Year is coming up quick! And with that, the saying, "New Year, New You" is already floating around quite a bit...

So many people try to set goals, change habits, or become a "better" version of themselves every new year. But not many people stick to the goals or habits that they set for themselves. Why is this?

My theory is that people aren't getting to the root of their issues. They continue to try to change surface level things but don't understand that you have to seek out the root and heal that before you will be able to change or better yourself.

This is because our habits, beliefs, and thoughts or perspective about ourselves run so deeply and are mostly in our subconscious. Your subconscious runs 90% of your life. This is why you continue to revert back to what feels comfortable instead of sticking to what you know is good for you.

When you can connect to the root, understand different parts of yourself, and communicate with these parts - you will then be able to heal and finally set habits, reach goals, and feel like a different, better version of yourself.

If you're ready to elevate yourself, comment ... below!

Have you heard the term, "Somatic Awareness" or "Soma" and wondered what it meant?

Look no further! "Soma" simply means "body". When you hear someone say that they practice "Somatic Awareness", they mean that they are aware of their body.

This is extremely important because your body is where all of your emotional and traumatic memories are stored. Dr. Bessel Van Der Kolk, who wrote the book The Body Keeps the Score (a great read if you are interested in this type of work), said, "The single most important issue for traumatized people is to find safety in their own bodies."

This quote explains the necessity of Somatic Awareness. When you are aware of your body, you can begin to work through your emotions which then allows you the space to heal in ways you couldn't have healed if you were stuck in your mind.

Our mind likes to create stories about our past and our Selves. But the body is what keeps the score. It is our truth teller.

When you connect to your body, when you are able to understand and process what it is telling you or what it has been storing, you will feel a huge release. My clients have experienced physical shifts in a single session - going from feeling "heavy" and "tight" to feeling "light" and "peaceful".

This type of transformation is possible for anyone to experience with the right guidance. If your body feels heavy, tight, tense, or rigid - you are most likely storing some type of emotion, experience, or belief within. Working to develop Somatic Awareness will aid you in releasing and healing those pieces. If you're interested to learn how to do this, DM me and let's chat!

As a kid, "brat" became a common nickname for me, and oftentimes not said in an affectionate manner.

See, I grew up in a family where love was shown by giving gifts. Expressing emotions and feelings weren't the norm. If a family member wanted to show they cared, it often came in the form of a tangible good or monetary value.

And because I often looked like I had "more" than others, my family members regularly judged me as being snobby. I was judged by my possessions, by my clothing, by my toys. My personality and who I was really had no weight in it - the perception that I "always got what I wanted" was cemented in their minds simply by what I owned.

No one really took time to recognize that I was missing out on what I really wanted, and that was connection and love from my family. Time with them. Words. Hugs. These were not the norm. Gifts were.

At the end of the day, I decided to step away from the relationships with people who chose not to see me for me. I'm not going to force relationships with people that clearly don't want one with me, that are going to judge me based on things I couldn't even control. It's not my burden to change someone's perception of me. Period. Just like it's not yours.

Now, I get to set my boundaries around the treatment I'll accept, but even more than that, I love the big "f-you" I've given all of them by following my passion for helping others find the confidence and security within themselves to do the same. To find the confidence to STOP allowing family perception to influence them. And if that's you, if you're struggling with judgement and allowing others to treat you poorly, let's change that. Send me a DM today to get on my calendar, and let's chat!

Earlier today I shared with you my story around the holidays and how it was a key moment for my family to try and guilt me into pursuing a life journey I didn't want. And the messages came flying at me! That one struck a nerve!

It seems so many of you dread the holidays because of guilt for one thing or another. You might not be where your family expects you to be financially or career wise, or your life may not be playing out in a way they expected it to.

Whatever the case may be, I want you to remember one thing - their expectations are NOT your responsibilities. You have ZERO obligations to them to live up to some vision they painted in their head of your life.

Because that's the key thing right there -it's YOUR life. YOU get to decide. And I want you to join me right now in deciding that you're going to be OK with who you are and where you are in life. Because at the end of the day, THAT'S what matters.

It’s true, I’m a tree hugger

Nature has played a big role in my healing. It’s how I found God again.

I grew up Catholic so I had “God” shoved down my throat for 18 years of my life. I was told to repent for my sins. I was chastised for not going to church. I was taught that God was a white man who died for our sins and I should be oh so thankful and bow to him because of it.

But that is not what I believe God is anymore. And nature helped me redefine that.

I believe God is each of us, each living being. I believe God is the blade of grass, the jungle cat, the flowing stream, the tiny baby, and you and me.

I believe each religion is rooted in one thing - love. I believe God is Buddha and Allah and Mohammed and Jesus.

I believe God is Love.

We tend to look for what makes each of us different. From our skin tones to our religions to our backgrounds to our personalities.

But I believe we are so much more alike than we are different. We all come from the same consciousness, the same source - Love.

That is what Nature helped me see. It is what brought me back to God after I denounced the typical Christian meaning.

Nature is healing. Nature is regenerative. Nature is love.

So I’m gonna hug trees as much as I can because when I do, I’m reminded of the oneness we all share.

I even speak to the trees and ask their permission to hug them. I ask them to take away anything that isn’t serving me. I ask them to watch over me and speak to me.

Communicating with nature is communicating with God. I find I’m at such peace when I take the time to sit and listen to it.

I’m proud to be a tree hugger, are you? 🌳 🤗

This is the easiest, yet most overlooked practice

Sitting. Being with yourself and your thoughts.

It’s overlooked because it makes people incredibly uncomfortable. They’d rather keep themselves busy than sit and process their emotions.

Our emotions tend to scare us. And that’s because we have avoided them for so long, we’re afraid what we’ll uncover if we begin to feel them again.

The truth is that avoidance is only temporary and you will eventually feel your emotions.

The choice comes if you want to feel them in a conscious, safe way or in an unconscious, uncontrollable way.

If you choose avoidance and continue to look past what’s going on within you, you will reach a point where you blow up. This blow up could be externally (yelling) or internally (panic attack).

If you choose acknowledgment then you give yourself the opportunity to not only face your emotions but work through them. This is how you begin to heal.

By acknowledging your emotions and allowing them to pass through you (aka sitting in your grief or anger, crying, screaming, taking a walk, dancing, shaking, etc) you open yourself up.

When you choose to feel them and then let them move, you transfer that energy. Emotions are energy. If you avoid them, they will become stuck inside of you. This is how trauma forms.

So I invite you to sit with yourself for at least 5 minutes today. Just sit and notice. Notice your thoughts, your emotions, your body, and your breath.

Simply sit and become aware. Become aware of the uncomfortability, the awkwardness, the agitation, the quiet, the noise, etc. And then after those 5 minutes, journal about your experience.

If you feel like crying, cry. If you feel like screaming, grab a pillow and scream into it. If you feel like being in nature, go walk barefoot outside or sit by a tree.

Take some time today to be with yourself and your emotions. I promise something will come up and you’ll be surprised at how easy it is to access these parts of you when you simply take the time.

Your body and emotions are craving to be expressed. But they need you to give them the space and time to safely do so.
