I was fortunate to see a presentation on “Inclusion through Peer to Peer” presented together by Sheila Peterson, Jake Leingang, and Sara Bohrer. Great work! What an incredible program, wonderful to learn how this started with 17 students at Century and is growing across the district… fantastic! The BPS Foundation Scholarships were also handed out. Thank you to the donors, benefactors, and companies, as well as the foundation. There are incredibly talented students in our district. Nice work to these students, Stacey Lang and Tahlia Nygaard. I also ran into fellow candidate Marijke Leibel at the meeting!

Last week, I had the pleasure of attending the Solheim Open House and stopping out at the Career Academy (Silver Ranch). I want to thank Shelly Swanson, Tracy Hanzal, Brian Beehler, and Pat Phillips for their time. You will find a picture of Solbeim’s kitchen. I could not believe they serve nearly 600 students a day in that school. It was also humbling to see the spaces of the portables. Incredibly impressive logistical bits of information and data. The Career Academy has so many career/choice ready opportunities with their direct partnerships with industry. I am a large supporter of the trades and technical careers. Not everyone needs to go on to college, but we all need to have a path forward. The Career Academy is doing great things. Bismarck Public Schools

In one of these photos you will see a wonderfully candid shot of our daughter Abby Aukland . She printed and pressed all the shirts and sweatshirts. Even the one for Bailey, the Black Lab Wonder! Thank you Abby, I greatly appreciate your work. I love you!
