Enjoyed my time with the students at Washington Elementary. Idle Eddy, Airon and Alabama Partners for Clean Air appreciates the kindness shown.
Idle-Eddy is a child friendly cartoon character that makes appearances at schools to educates students on the effects of vehicle emissions.
Idle Eddy has presented to over 7,000 students the importance of having clean air to breathe. Idle Eddy is not capable of thinking for himself; he must rely on conscientious drivers to shut his engine off when he is idling. Wednesday: CODE ORANGE AIR QUALITY ALERT FOR OZONE! High pressure will be the dominant weather feature for the Birmingham area. This will create dry conditions and mostly sunny skies. High temperatures will reach the upper 80s. Winds will be southerly at 5-10 mph. The combination of sunny, dry, and hot conditions are expected to push Ozone into the orange range(unhealthy for sensitive groups), which will trigger the issuance of an Air Quality Alert. A morning inversion is expected to develop, which could spike PM2.5 concentrations for several hours but overall for the day will be in the yellow range (moderate). ML
