The Department of Computer Science (CS) at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking candidates for a non-tenure-track assistant professor in teaching position, starting Spring or Fall 2024.
Candidates with teaching expertise in all core computer science topics are sought, with preference given to Programming, Algorithms and Data Structures, Computer Architecture, Data Science/Machine Learning, Networking, Systems Programming, Operating Systems, Web-based Application Development, and Software Engineering. UAB has made a significant commitment to teaching and teaching innovation in Computer Science.
Candidates must consequently have strong teaching credentials preferably in a diverse range of areas and the ability to advance the teaching strengths of the Department, including the application of new results in CS education, the establishment of new curricula and labs, online teaching, acquisition of educational grants, and participation in accreditation activities, student recruitment and advising.

The Department of Computer Science (CS) at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking candidates for four (4) tenure-track positions, with a potential start date of Fall 2024.
Candidates with expertise in all core CS areas are sought, with preference being given to candidates who could complement and enhance current department strengths in the areas of Data Science/Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Networking, and Software Engineering. UAB's NSF funded CyberCorps Scholarship for Service (SFS) program invites qualified students (US Citizens and permanent residents) to apply for full scholarships to pursue an MS in cyber security (MS CFSM) degree.
The deadline to apply is June 1, 2017. However, earlier applications are strongly encouraged.
Each scholarship provides about $50,000 per year of funding/benefits, organized as follows:
(1) Stipends of $34,000 per year.
(2) Expenses normally incurred by full-time students in the institution, including tuition and education-related fees.
(3) A health insurance reimbursement allowance of up to $3,000 per year.
(4) A professional development allowance of $4,000 and a book allowance of $2,000 per academic year.
