The FILES (Future Inspired Leaders Exemplifying Success) Arts Project is an initiative to provide arts training & education to build stronger communities. Ms.

This project was born out of Ms. Files' experiences during the summer of 2014. On August 2, 2014, Metropolitan Youth Orchestras of Central Alabama and Scrollworks presented Ms. Files in a free Horton & Ballet technique master class at the historic Carver Theatre in Birmingham, Alabama. The class was well-attended and well-received by the students. Many of the students requested that she return to

A Birmingham native, dance artist, educator, and arts leader now based in New York City, Kat brings a strong background in performance, arts education, and community engagement. As Founder & Executive Director of TFAP, Kat remains deeply committed to creating meaningful artistic opportunities and providing accessible arts education for Birmingham youth and families.

We’re excited for students to train with Kat and experience her passion for dance, creativity, and community this summer.
