Come celebrate the new school year at the All-Star Back to School Bash with Coach
Youngblood and Ms. F. Smith! There will be games, relays, P.E. equipment, a glow dance party, and more! Pizza and snacks will be provided! Parents, take the night off! Let us entertain your kiddos!

This fun night will be held Friday, September 11th in the OMES gym from 5:30-8:30. It is open to pre-k through 5th grade students and the cost is $50. Scan the attached QR codes to sign your child up and to pay for the fun evening.

Mrs. Morgan’s 3rd grade class has started the year with some special visitors. After our reading coach, Mrs. Smith read “Mercy Watson Thinks Like a Pig” their class celebrated with a fun Pig Party! Students enjoyed pig-themed treats and activities while celebrating their hard work and love of reading. It was the perfect way to wrap up our Mercy Watson adventure! 🐷

They also had a wonderful time learning about origami after reading “The Origami Master” by Nathaniel Lachenmeyer. Our ESL teacher, Cathy Compher, joined them to teach about the art of paper folding.

BEAR Day is always a special day at OMES! Our 2nd graders had the BEST time celebrating BEAR Day (Be Excited About Reading)! Students spent the day immersed in books, enjoyed visits from special guest readers, cozied up in their pajamas, and participated in fun bear-themed activities that incorporated reading, math, and so much more! 🧸📚

💙🐦 Blueberry, our special bluebird friend, has been on the lookout for Bluebird Best behavior in our school. Blueberry looks for classrooms where students are showing positive behavior and making great choices. When Blueberry spots a class doing great things, he comes to celebrate with them! This week, Blueberry made some very special visits to Mrs. McCord’s, Mrs. Mills’, and Mrs. Morgan’s classrooms! 🎉👏
