Hey ACMers,

Executive elections are coming up for next semester. Each year we look for a new president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer. We'd love to have as many applicants as possible. The only requirement is that the candidates must be current ACM members.

ACM Executives are in charge of the ACM websites, events, outreach, and tutoring. It's a very rewarding experience and a great way to delve deeper into the science.

If you are interested in running, please email [email protected] with your name, BlazerID, and position you would like to run for. Elections will be held next week and winners will be announced on April 25.

There aren't a lot of women in the computer science field, but Katy Snoddy, a Homewood high school student, and UAB Professor John Johnstone are working with Girls Who Code to change that.

As the semester draws to close it is time to elect new officers to the the ACM leadership team. This year we’re planning on doing things a little differently. Instead of having a general meeting the last week of school we would like to have those interested in serving submit their candidacy and then hold an election week of April 11-15 where members can stop by the polling location and cast their vote. To do this we need those who would like to be considered to email [email protected] with the position they are interested in and a short description of themselves and what they hope to accomplish. The positions are Chair, Co-Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer. Please submit applications by April 9th. If you have any questions about the commitment involved please feel free to ask any of the current serving members or message our page.

CS200 Study Hall
Today (Tuesday Feb. 23) at 6:30pm in Campbell Hall 145, ACM will be holding a study hall for CS200 students to come prepare for their test on Thursday. There will also be free snacks and drinks for anyone attending this study hall. Upper class men are needed to come help our freshmen!!
