In her first official act of the new year, Senator Merkia Coleman (District 19) presented Lawson State with $10,000 to support the college's award-winning choir. Dr. Cynthia Anthony, president of the college, graciously thanked Sen. Coleman who is a decades-long supporter of Lawson State and its mission. One example — Sen. Coleman helped Lawson State secure critical funding for the Alabama Center for Advanced Technology and Training, one of the main buildings on the Birmingham campus!

Congratulations to our choral director, Mr. Bruce Henderson, Jr., who has been invited to conduct on the prestigious stage of Carnegie Hall.
