Your relationship doesn’t have to be in crisis to deserve your attention. ❤️

Sometimes the most meaningful thing you can do for your marriage is simply step away from the noise, slow down, and make space for each other again.

Wild Grace is a weekend to reconnect, understand each other more deeply, and practice skills that can change the way you navigate the conversations that matter most.

If you’ve been thinking, “We could use some intentional time together,” maybe this is your invitation.

Every relationship has moments we wish we'd handled differently.

Words we would take back.
Times we pulled away when we wish we'd stayed.
Moments when hurt, fear, or defensiveness spoke louder than love.

A strong marriage isn't one where those moments never happen.

It's one where we learn how to come back.

To repair.
To forgive.
To extend grace.
To try again.

Sometimes beginning again doesn't require forgetting what happened. It means choosing to meet each other differently in what comes next.

There is grace in beginning again.

At Wild Grace, we create space for couples to slow down, understand the patterns that keep getting in the way, practice new ways of communicating, and make room for God and one another.

When someone we love is hurting, our instinct is often to make it better.

Offer advice. Find a solution. Explain another perspective. Fix the problem.

Usually, it comes from a good place.

But sometimes what our partner needs first isn't a solution.

They need to know:

You hear me.
You understand why this matters to me.
You're here with me.

Here's a question to ask each other today:

“When I'm upset, what helps me feel most supported by you?”

Then try something surprisingly difficult—just listen to the answer.

Learning to listen with curiosity instead of immediately fixing, defending, or explaining is one of the skills we'll practice at Wild Grace.

“I wish we had known about this 30 years ago!”

We loved hearing this from one of the couples who attended our last Wild Grace couples retreat.

Their full reflection was:

“Wild Grace Encounters gave us what we needed to better understand why we respond to each other in the ways that we do. I wish we had known about this 30 years ago!”

That's really at the heart of what we hope couples experience at Wild Grace.

Not learning how to have a perfect marriage—but beginning to understand why you respond to each other the way you do, especially when conversations get hard.

And then learning and practicing new ways to respond.

Sometimes the argument we're having isn't really about the words being said.

Underneath anger might be hurt.

Underneath criticism might be longing.

Underneath withdrawal might be fear.

And underneath “Why don't you ever listen?” might be something much more vulnerable:

“Do I matter to you?”

When we can slow down enough to recognize what's happening underneath our reactions, we have a better chance of responding to each other with understanding instead of defensiveness.

That's a big part of what we'll practice at Wild Grace Encounters—learning to hear not only what your partner is saying, but what may be happening underneath it.

So many important things compete for our attention.

Work. Kids. Family. Responsibilities. The never-ending list of things that need to get done.

And sometimes the person we chose to build a life with ends up getting whatever time and energy are left.

Not because the relationship doesn't matter.

But because it matters so much that we assume it will always be there.

Investing in your marriage doesn't mean something is wrong. Sometimes it simply means saying, "This matters enough to make time for."

That's what Wild Grace is about—stepping away from the noise long enough to turn toward one another again.

It's easy to avoid the conversations that feel hard.

We don't want another argument. We don't want to say the wrong thing. Sometimes it just feels easier to move on and hope the tension goes away.

But the conversations we avoid are often the ones that matter most.

What if you could learn to stay present when things get hard—to speak honestly without attacking, listen without becoming defensive, and become curious about what's really happening underneath the conflict?

That's part of what we'll practice at Wild Grace Encounters.

Not perfect communication. Not getting it right every time. Just learning new ways to find your way back to one another.

Life teaches us to keep moving.

Relationships ask us to slow down.

The conversations that matter most rarely happen while rushing between work, practices, errands, and bedtime routines.

Wild Grace is an intentional pause—a weekend designed to help you step out of the pace of everyday life so you can return to one another with greater steadiness and care.

✨ If your relationship could benefit from intentional time together, we'd love to welcome you. Visit our website to learn more. www.wildgraceencounters.com

We often think strong marriages are built by the big moments—anniversaries, vacations, or grand gestures.

But lasting relationships are usually shaped by something much quieter.

A conversation where someone feels heard.

An apology that's sincerely offered.

Choosing curiosity over criticism.

Turning toward each other when it would be easier to pull away.

These small moments become the foundation of trust, friendship, and intimacy.

That's why we created Wild Grace—a weekend where couples can step away from the pace of everyday life and intentionally practice those moments together.

✨ Join us September 11–13, 2026, in Columbiana, Alabama, for a weekend of rest, reflection, and practical tools to strengthen your relationship. We intentionally limit the retreat to just 10 couples to keep the experience personal and meaningful. Learn more and register through the link in our bio.
