Hey Christina, what are you training this week?

This week, I’m kicking off Year 2 of a monthly leadership development program with an organization that made the decision to continue investing in the growth and development of their leaders.

Each month, we dive deeper into leadership skills, self-awareness, and practical tools — all customized around their DiSC Birds assessment results to help leaders better understand themselves and lead others more effectively.

Today’s focus? Time Management & Prioritization — The DiSC Birds Edition

The real question is: Do you know how YOU naturally make decisions, manage distractions, respond to pressure, and prioritize what matters most?

That’s where personality awareness changes everything.

In this leadership development session, we’ll explore how different DiSC Birds styles can impact:
- How we approach deadlines
- Where we get stuck
- What steals our focus
- How we communicate priorities with our teams
- How we move from being busy… to being intentional

A post that’s long overdue... but too special not to share.

This spring, I had the incredible honor of delivering not one, but TWO graduation keynotes for the East Alabama Chamber of Commerce serving Leadership East Alabama and Young Leaders of East Alabama.

Two keynotes.
Two graduating classes.
Two audiences.
Two unique messages.
One unforgettable experience.
There’s something incredibly rewarding about standing in front of leaders who have committed to growing, not just in their careers, but in how they serve their organizations and communities.

If you’ve ever considered applying for Leadership East Alabama or Young Leaders of East Alabama, let this be your sign. These programs challenge you, connect you with incredible people, and grow you in ways you don’t expect. I can’t recommend them enough.

I’m already looking forward to being part of the upcoming cohorts and can’t wait to see the next group of leaders who step up, lean in, and invest in themselves.

Finally, a huge thank you to the Chamber for trusting me with not one, but two keynote addresses. There is no greater compliment than being invited to speak into the lives of leaders who are shaping the future of our communities.

Not everyone who has history with you should have influence over you.

Some people celebrate your growth. Some tolerate it. Some quietly resent it.

Some only pull up a chair when they need something.
Some only speak when they have something negative to say.
Some have made it their mission to remind you of who you used to be instead of supporting who you're becoming.

The hardest part of growth isn't always becoming someone new. Sometimes it's recognizing that the table you've built for your life has limited seats.

Every seat you give away is an invitation to influence your peace, your confidence, your decisions, and your future.

That doesn't mean you stop loving people. It doesn't mean you become cold. It simply means you become intentional.

Not everyone deserves front-row access to the life
you're creating.

So, here's your reflection for today...
Who still has a seat at your table simply because they've always been there, not because they've earned the right to stay?

Courage isn’t something we either have or don’t have, it’s something we build.

Every time we speak up, take a risk, try something new, or step outside our comfort zone, we strengthen our courage muscle.

The more we practice courage, the more capable we become of facing challenges with confidence.
