Level Up Conference for Student Leaders from Arizona Western College and Central Arizona College - part 2.

A balloon inspired creative challenge had them learn a new skill, work collaboratively, think creatively, and communicate ideas about campus engagement in a new way.

Given the same prompt & tools, each group came up with their own unique interpretation :)

Level Up Leadership Conference for Student Leaders from Arizona Western College and Central Arizona College

They brought energy, creativity, & curiosity about how playfulness can be a tool for creating spaces to allow vulnerability & create belonging.

And how that relates to the work they do on campus & beyond.

Pop Up Play Break during UMass Student Union Frosh Fest last week.

Students stopped by, learned skills, helped each other, and met people over a shared new interest (not forced, awkward ice-breakers).

We even had a few students go find the forms to re-start a juggling club on campus.

So excited for them to kick off the semester with this kind of engagement and connection.

Kicking off the semester with CSI Campus Activities Board and outdoor engagement & connection.

Students stopped our Pop Up Play Break in between classes to learn new skills & get a custom Flop Ball to keep up with CAB events all year long.

Many of the students came back a few times throughout the afternoon because so many skills to try :)

This year marks our 8th year partnering with Institute for Advanced Analytics - we introduce strategies for learning a new skill & working in teams.

They get to use it in a fun way with us and then apply it as they work with their practicum teams during the semester.

Looking forward to continuing this collaboration.

Thanks for inviting us to work with University of New England RAs. Hope the rest of training has been full of playful growth.

Scenes from RA training last week for UNE Housing

We learned, collaborated, & imagined new ways to create playful spaces of belonging for residents.

Can’t wait to hear how it goes.
