Working in clay, paper mache, painting some color wheels, and artist trading cards this week in the NK art room. Loving this new space!

We have been knee deep in clay this week! Going to begin learning how to throw in the pottery wheels next week. Love the new space of the art room, and so do the students! Also showing some needle felting and word abstractions to round out the work.

Friday art day!

What an awesome first week of school! Students are excited to be back and explore the new art room. We took a class tour of the room and a scavenger hunt to find the new places the supplies are now stored. Today the 3d sculpture class started their first sculpture challenge and it was nice to have the ability to use the hot glue guns at the tables. Still getting some things put in their places, but I’m so very excited and pleased with the new equipment and the updated space. It’s a wonderful blessing!

Congratulations to all the senior graduates tonight and especially my senior art students! I wish I would have been able to snap a picture of all of them tonight , but wasn’t able to catch them all. I will miss you guys next year. Have a great summer and enjoy this next chapter of your journey!

We had our end of the year art show last week with an awesome turn out crowd and hundreds of pieces on display. One of our underclassmen created cartoon portraits at her Doodle Booth which was a hit! The library had old chairs that a class painted and we auctioned off. Seniors had the opportunity to showcase their work individually at tables- we wish you all the best seniors!! It was a great end to the school year.
