Greetings to All, We have some exciting poetry news to share: Jennie Gilrain, cofounder of The Favorite Poem Project of Bethlehem has directed and co-produced the video "The Black Poets Project: The Beautiful Needful Thing". It is part of the NCC Peace and Social Justice Virtual Conference Oct. 13-15th. The video screening debut will be on Thursday, Oct. 15th from: 6:30-9:00 pm and followed by q & a. The video's description: "In a beautiful natural setting, nine Lehigh Valley women read poems by Black poets and talk about “Why?” What does Black poetry have to say to us now? Black poetry invites the reader into empathy. Black poetry offers an alternative perspective on the history of this country. Black poetry shines a light on injustice and expresses the pain, the joy and the hope of freedom.

Radical Freedom: Poets on the Life and Work of H.D.
On Tuesday September 8th at 7 PM local poets celebrate the life and work of Bethlehem native Hilda Doolittle with a reading of H.D.'s poetry and their own. Featuring poets Nanette Smith, Sienna Mae Heath, Lynn Alexander, Katherine Falk, and Cleveland Wall—with an introduction by Jennie Gilrain. This program is brought to you through the generous support of the Lehigh Valley Engaged Humanities Consortium.
