STUDENT SPOTLIGHT: Will Wirt

I met Will towards the very beginning of his musical theater journey only three years ago; now he has already been casted in twelve musicals!!!

This summer, he landed the role of Percy Jackson in "The Lightning Thief" with MCT !!! The production performs early October and he has done an incredible job preparing to take on this beast of a vocal challenge. It's been amazing to see how he understands the character of Percy and applies this to his acting.

Will won 2nd place in NATS Greater Philadelphia Locals this year! Funny enough, one of his songs was "Good Kid" from The Lightning Thief. :)

He enters North Penn High School this year (I can't believe how fast he is growing up) and as an incoming sophomore, he was picked for Bards and Chamber Singers. Chambers is particularly high commitment and selective; truly well done,Will!!

Congratulations to my student, Amelia, who was a "Knight" in CECA's production of "Shrek Jr."! Way to go, Amelia!!

More studio improvements! My family helped me reorganize all the studio music, we got a bulletin board up of music careers and encouragement, and the location steamed the carpet for us! There are a few more things I would like to accomplish in the room, but this is a great start!

New decorations and curtains are making our new studio feel like a musical home! Huge shout out to Holly, Gianna, Nora, Gwyn and my mother, Laurie, for all their help and gifts for the room!!

Congratulations to my student, Autumn Benko, who will be performing Patrick in Spongebob Squarepants the Musical at Plymouth Performing Arts Center tomorrow!!

STUDENT SPOTLIGHT: Colleen McFadden

Colleen is one of those special people that after you meet her you know you've met one of the best around. Not only is she probably the kindest person I know, but she is an incredibly hard worker, truly understands character work and has a beautiful instrument to boot!

I have the privledge of teaching two of her three sons and I see every week the incredible woman and mother she is through how she supports and cares for them. Not to mention their own wonderful qualities that are clearly influenced by her.

This past year she won 3rd place at NATS in her category!

She is a constant performer and is casted often with The Theater Next Door as many different characters including Mrs. Brill in "Mary Poppins", Jenny in "Big Fish", Scrooge in "A Christmas Carol, and Granny/Giant in "Into the Woods".

I am so grateful to have her in the studio as a student and friend.
