We are a few short days away from our debut at Nightmare Expo! Our booth will be set up from 10-2, and we've finalized our meet and greet schedule! Gecko and invertebrate meet and greets will be dependent on traffic and temperaments of the animals day of, but all of our snakes are ready to whisper all their secrets to you!

Good morning friends of The Hissing Booth

These are never the posts anyone wants to make. Many of you came by our booth at Berkshire Pride and noticed the memorial for our sweet, gentle, beautiful Thanos.

Thanos was a wild type Boa Imperator who at his heaviest sat at 30lbs and just under 9ft long. Although mighty, he was a gentle giant with a love of stretching out in the grass, dandelions, and everyone he could get to at our Hissing Booth. (Seriously, Thanos liked everyone, but LOVED dads).

In the spring of 2025 Thanos began to show signs of organ failure, suspected due to his age and size. He also contracted a very rare, opportunistic bacteria known to cause upper respiratory infections, and resistant is to most antibiotics. After weeks of remaining unresponsive to all treatment attempts, we had to make the extremely hard decision to end his suffering on May 30, 2025.

I want to always remember Thanos as the gentle soul who won over the hearts of many with every curious tongue flick, hug, and secret hiss he gave. He had a mission to dispell the myths that his species, and others like him are to be feared, and instead, they have so much love to give. Please join me in remembering Thanos.

As for me, the human behind this project and account, I'm still very broken up about it and find it hard to talk about in person. I will continue to set up his memorial at my booths for the foreseeable future. Thank you all, and I will bring better news in future posts
