This week I launched Aurelia Grove, a new project that is beginning to take root and break through the soil. This is the beginning of a new chapter in how we live, grieve, and say goodbye.
Aurelia Grove is a place where endings are honored, grief is held in community and every passage is met with beauty, meaning and care.
From individually crafted memorials and holistic grief counseling to community death education — we are here to walk with you through life’s most profound thresholds.
Here’s to tending stories, honoring legacies, and meeting each ending with love.

Cow Parsnip blossoming in This plant is better known for its toxicity than its medicine. A week from this Sunday I’ll be teaching this workshop on “Caring for Patients Facing Life Threatening Illness”. Here we will explore questions of how our care changes when we are working with a patient facing a life threatening diagnosis? What does healing look like at end of life? This workshop is geared towards herbalists but anyone interested in end of life care may be interested in this class. Chaplains, death doulas, nurses, therapists and other healthcare providers may find this workshop of use in their practice. All proceeds go to benefit the Cecemaya scholarship fund of , a fund to benefit people of color having access to herbalism training. Hope you will join us and will give generously!

Have you ever seen a Mariposa Lilly? It’s an incredible flower to find in the woods. It grows low to the ground and it almost feels like you’ve found a little fairy growing in the duft when you find it in the woods. It’s soft tenderness hugging the earth is good medicine for anyone who is feeling disconnected from soft holding. I turn to this plants flower essence when working with people who are expressing a desire for connection with a greater love. Today I post this flower with a prayer for all the children who have been separated from their parents at the border concentration camps. Today may they feel moments of connection with their parents love even if they are apart. I also pray that those in power have a radical change of heart and realize the atrocities they are perpetuating.
