Welcome back, Bears! Since the school year has started, keep an eye out for 2019-2020 application!
What we do:
Interns have the opportunity to support the East Bay Sanctuary Covenant Staff in different tasks such as Asylum, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), Unaccompanied Minors (UAC), U-Visas, Residency and Community Development and Education (CDE). Interns with an interest in teaching can facilitate English as a Second Language (ESL) and citizenship exam classes.
Who can apply?
- Anyone currently enrolled in UC Berkeley
- Able to commit for one-year (no studying abroad or seniors with one semester left)
- Commit to four hours a week between 10am-4:30pm, MTWThF
- Demonstrates a commitment to public service through activism, student leadership, civic participation at UC Berkeley or in your community, or volunteering
Internship Benefit
- Flexible hours with student schedules
- 1-3 units
- Network with fellow interns, lawyers and law students
- Develop and grow personally and professionally
- Receive letters of recommendation and references
- Great assets to resume (real life experiences) learn about immigration issues

What do you look forward as an ILR intern?
- As a Naturalization ILR intern I am looking forward to meeting and working with people during their process of Naturalization. Not only do I hope to learn how this process works, but I also hope to be able to develop my professional and communication skills through this opportunity. Being able to intern for ILR in the last couple days has been so rewarding, and I look forward to the many more rewarding experiences this internship will give me, to learn, give awareness and be able to help the community.
