Bennington College Alumni

Bennington College Alumni Connect with the alumni network with news, events, and more.

Bennington College holds a distinguished place among American colleges and universities. It was the first to include the visual and performing arts in a liberal arts education. It is the only college to require that its students spend a term—every year—at work in the world. And its new Center for the Advancement of Public Action provides a unique opportunity for students to explore how the questio

ns that matter to them come together with the questions that matter to the world. Rooted in an abiding faith in the talent, imagination, and responsibility of the individual, Bennington invites students to pursue and shape their own intellectual inquiries, and in doing so to discover the profound interconnection of things.

Dev Wernik ‘26 is screening his film “Time Being” on August 5th at the Laemmle Town Center in Encino, California. “Time Being” acted as his Bennington College senior project in visual arts. The film screening is free admission, but Wernik is also accepting donations.

Dev Wernik is an aspiring paid-filmmaker born and raised in Los Angeles, California. A recent Bennington Alumni, Dev spent the previous two years formulating and, eventually, creating his thesis film, “Time Being.” Made to grieve, the film is part travelogue, part film-essay, and part funeral that loudly showcases its flaws rather than trying to conceal them. Dev is back home in LA where he edits for the Queerty Award Winning “Kelly Mantle Show” and a variety of other trans, drag, and q***r productions. He is currently writing his next film, which focuses on a group of severely flawed young men over a 24-hour period.
