We are in the final stages of the ACL and Knee OA studies and still looking for a few more volunteers. Both studies are low commitment (only 1 session, ~1 hour). Plus, they're fun, and you may learn a few things along the way! Please see the flyers below for more information, and feel free to reach out to Dr. JJ Hannigan ([email protected]) if you're interested and may qualify.

Hello FORCE Lab followers! After a crazy few years, we are back with a new on-campus lab and have several research studies ongoing. Here are two of them, with flyers attached to this post. If you have torn your ACL and returned to sport/activity, or are currently suffering from knee osteoarthritis, and meet the requirements on the flyer, don't hesitate to get in touch with us!

We are currently recruiting participants for two separate research studies. Both studies would take place at The Center in NE Bend, generally take 1 hour or less, and offer a $25 gift card to Fred Meyer as compensation.
1) Walking Study - we are looking for 10 active & healthy females ages 18-25 to walk in 3 different pairs of shoes (minimal, traditional, and maximal) in the lab. You must be between a 6.5 and 9.5 women's shoe size to participate.
2) ACL Study - we are looking for individuals (particularly males) ages 18-55 who have either a) torn their ACL, had it repaired, are 12+ months post-surgery and have returned to activity, or b) healthy controls (no current injuries or previous leg surgeries) that match an ACL participant for age, s*x, height, and weight. For this study, you would run, cut, and jump in the lab.
Study fliers with more information are attached (please note we are no longer recruiting males or older females for the walking study). If interested, please email [email protected]

This is an impressive feat! Race walking rules do not allow any visible loss of contact with the ground. It is one of few sports that the judges are looking at biomechanics, rather than speed alone or style.
