USA Pickleball has designated the 2027 Pacific Northwest Classic in Bend, OR, as a USA Pickleball Golden Ticket event. As one of the final events of the 2026–2027 season, this newly acquired designation gives our tournament players an opportunity to qualify for the 2027 USA Pickleball National Championships, even if they do not win a Golden Ticket.
A USA Pickleball (USAP) Golden Ticket event is a premier qualifying tournament that gives amateur players a direct pathway to compete in the USA Pickleball National Championships. The venue for the 2027 USA Pickleball National Championships will be announced in early September 2026.
A Golden Ticket in USAP is an automatic qualifying pass for gold medalists at designated Golden Ticket tournaments. Often called the “holy grail” by players, it provides the fastest and only guaranteed path for amateur players to secure a spot at the USAP National Championships. Golden Ticket holders bypass the uncertainty of standard registration and receive Tier 1 priority access when registration opens.
Under the Tiered Points System, participating in a Golden Ticket tournament automatically earns players the 4,500 TPS points needed for Nationals eligibility, regardless of whether they win gold in their age/skill division. Actual entry into a Nationals event, however, depends on how many points other players in the same age/skill division have earned when they register.
The 2027 Pacific Northwest Regional Golden Ticket is on track to become Central Oregon’s largest and most exciting pickleball event yet. Dates for the event will be July 14-18, 2027. Registration will open March 1, 2027 at www.pickleballbrackets.com/?pnc2027. Kirk Foster will continue as Tournament Director through the 2027 tournament.
