Your environment plays a huge role in how you feel and therefore how productive you are and how much energy you bring into your tasks. Craft your environment intentionally and do it for you. You deserve to be in a place that lifts you up.
Do you promise yourself a reward once you’ve done the hard work? Too often, we then just push off that reward for more work resulting in us never doing the things we actually want.
The things you love to do and that give you energy, make THOSE non negotiable. Rather than using them as bait, use them as a TOOL to generate the energy you need to better show up for the hard things. Put those activities BEFORE the hard stuff too, not just after.
To be happy we want to feel like we are growing. To grow, you have to be productive. Two quick tips to do exactly that:
1. No more to do lists. Immediately schedule you to do’s instead. No more questioning when you should do it.
2. Do one thing daily to make taking action in the future easier. Put out the ingredients, lay out the materials you need, write down the number you need to call. Make it easy to complete the task when you need to, you’ll be grateful you did.
It’s under your control.
Feel like you’re not making any progress? Give your actions a direction!
It’s important to be present and grateful, but it’s also important to work ON your life. Generate goals, plan dates, care for your friendships, and always be learning more.
Be in your life, but don’t forget to also work on it. Be the CEO. Higher, fire, build systems, and give raises accordingly.

Don’t just strive for things and experiences. Strive to be intentional with your time. How do you want to spend it? Who do you want to spend it with?
Measuring your success against how you spend your time rather than opening a business, making that money, or getting that raise helps show that your happiness isn’t out of reach.
Take the things you enjoy and start incorporating more of that into your routine. Today. 💪🏻

Doing things you love and going places you enjoy shouldn’t be held hostage only as a reward, rather used as a tool to generate the energy you need to do the hard things.
Contingent rewards are helpful in achieving tasks, but shouldn’t be the only way you access the things you love.
Enrich your life. It’s under your control.

A while back I hit 100 consecutive days on Duolingo. It was a goal I set and the SECOND I achieved it, I thought, “what a waste of fu***ng time”. It was a distraction from approaching the things I actually cared about. A fools accomplishment.
Being productive isn’t about getting MORE done, it’s about getting the RIGHT things done. Know your big projects, know your priorities, and don’t let other things get in your way.
Your job is to move forward only the things that matter most in your life. Everything else is a shiny object.
Clarity around what’s important, then relentlessness around pursuing it. 💪🏻
You’re already good. You’re applying the strategies you need to show up, whether it’s personally or professionally. The key is to take those strategies and translate them to the areas of your life that need them the most.
Are you married to your work calendar? Make one for personal commitments too. Do you love to do lists? Make one for your relationship too. Does the accountability of your work team help you show up? Join a group to finish that book or set a new exercise goal. Do timers help you manage your personal life? Use them for work tasks too.
