The Postpartum Journey: Beyond the Six Weeks 🌿
Six weeks - the mythical date that *p**f* all physical and emotional healing is done and we either pass the six week office exam or something terrible happens and we don't pass (what does that even mean, not to pass??). But that appointment is NOT about the postpartum period. Remember, postpartum is lifelong. 🌟 Let's dive into why postpartum isn't a mere six weeks; it's a journey that unfolds, transforms, and deserves acknowledgment every step of the way.
🤱 The Myth of the Six-Week Marker:
The idea that postpartum ends at six weeks is a misconception. Physically, emotionally, and psychologically, this period continues to evolve, shape, and redefine itself. 🔄 Let's break free from the confines of timelines and embrace the unique rhythm of each postpartum journey. Traditionally, the "immediate" postpartum period is around six weeks or the amount of time it takes the body to finish the immediate healing process.
🌺 Beyond the Physical:
It's not just about the body healing; it's about a soul finding its new normal. 💖 Postpartum involves recalibrating, adjusting, and embracing the metamorphosis that extends far beyond the initial weeks. We follow the inherited knowledge that the next postpartum period is about 2 years long - including breastfeeding, a return to physical strain, in*******se, and a recalibrating of our new bodies and roles.
Our doulas are here to navigate this emotional terrain with you, offering guidance, a steady hand, and an understanding heart.
🌿 Our Promise to You:
We are committed to being more than a service; we're your unwavering support system. Our doulas are with you every step, recognizing that postpartum is a lifelong journey of growth, self-discovery, and celebration.

✨ Embracing the Journey: Building a Knowledgeable and Loving Support System ✨
Dear amazing parents and soon-to-be parents, we want to remind you of something incredibly important: you don't need to know everything about every aspect of birth and parenting. 🌿🤍It's okay not to have all the answers. What truly matters is a desire to learn, an openness to expand and diversify your sources of information, and build a support system rooted in knowledge and love rather than fear and isolation.
Parenting is a journey filled with twists and turns, surprises, and incredible moments. It's about growth, learning, and evolving together. Here are a few thoughts to keep in mind:
🤱 You Are Not Alone: Surround yourself with a community that understands, empathizes, and uplifts you. Whether it's friends, family, or a supportive doula, having a network makes all the difference.
📚 Continuous Learning: The beauty of parenthood lies in the continuous learning process. Stay curious, explore different perspectives, and seek knowledge from reliable sources. Each piece of information contributes to your unique parenting journey.
🤍Choose Love Over Fear: Let your choices be guided by love and understanding, not fear. Parenting can be challenging, but it's the love, patience, and support that create a path.
💬 Share Your Wisdom: Share your experiences, ask questions, and engage with other parents. Your insights might be exactly what someone else needs to hear.
Remember, it's not about perfection; it's about the journey, the growth, and the love you share. 🌟💙 Embrace the process, and know that support is always here for you.

In birth, in healing, in postpartum, in personal growth remember this and repeat it as needed because ...
You *are* making progress.
You *are* opening.
You *are* doing it.

You’re in a safe space where it is truly ok to DM us, email us, call us and say “I’m not ok”.
At some point in parenting we all say it. Our fatigue is overwhelming, our patience runs thin, our judgement feels cloudy, our Self slips away, our relationships strain, our bodies falter, our health suffers.
Reach out to someone. Tell them. And if you cannot think of anyone you can tell, then my sweet friend, you tell us.
