Gitigaan: Bemidji State University's Community Garden Gitigaan's 28 plots are available to rent each spring by BSU students, faculty and staff, and Bemidj

Gitigaan is an organic community garden project created and managed by BSU's Sustainability Office. It has 28 plots that are about 120 sq ft each that can be rented out each spring by BSU students, faculty and staff, and Bemidji community members. We hold informational meetings about a variety of different gardening topics and enjoy a potluck together at the end of the season. Plots are rented out

for $5 to students and for $10 to faculty, staff and community members. In addition, everyone pays a $5 weeding deposit that may be returned at the end of the season or put forwards for the next summer.

We just installed a hose extension to the spigot of the blue rain barrel to facilitate the filling of watering cans! Thanks for your patience, gardeners.
Also, thank you to Richard and Laurie Desiderato for helping bolster the west gate by installing cable and a turnbuckle. 😊
