Results are finalized. Congratulations to the new school board members. I have no doubt that they will do what is best for our District 100 students.

A huge thank you to those who wrote my name in. ❤️ You believed in my mission and I truly appreciate the support. Life has been busy since the election so my apologies for the delay in posting. I ran for a seat on the school board because I believe that we can always strive for better. That if I had any concerns for when my own children attend school here, that I had a say in helping it be the best it can be.

It’s Election Day! If you have a chance to make your voice heard go vote! Best of luck to all the candidates!

I have been told by a few people that it’s not easy to put myself out here like this. I’ve been told that I’m “brave” for wanting to run for an elected position. Running for a seat on the school board has been a truly unique experience and I’m ready for whatever is to come after today. I know in my heart that Im doing this for my community and for the students and staff at District 100.

All the kindness and support I have gotten throughout this time has been a truly amazing. If elected, I hope to do the best I can for our beautiful town and the students we serve.

As April 1st quickly approaches here’s a reminder of qualities that I will bring to the table as a board member:

1. Opportunities for open conversations and finding evidenced-based solutions to address concerns affecting District 100 students.

2. Advocacy for students and staff. Helping to assure that their voices are heard and represented in meetings and decisions.

3. Personal experience working in a school setting.

4. A kind heart with the only goal of helping Belvidere students succeed.

As a Belvidere resident, I want nothing more than to help District 100 become a place where parents are proud to send their children knowing they are safe and supported.

Mondays aren’t for everyone. Hopefully you were able to enjoy the quick “pseudo- spring” we just had.🌺 ☀️

(Hopefully) Spring weather is upon us and I imagine this district, both teachers and students alike, is looking forward to Spring Break! If you know a teacher or student, be kind to them this week.

As a school board candidate, I recognize the significant impact burnout has on both students and teachers, particularly as we approach spring break. After months of hard work, many are feeling the effects of fatigue and stress. For students, the pressure of assignments and exams can be overwhelming, while teachers are balancing the demands of lesson planning, getting grades in, and supporting their students’ well-being. It’s essential that we, as a community, create a supportive environment where both students and staff feel valued and have the resources to recharge. I’m committed to advocating for policies that prioritize mental health, reduce unnecessary stress, and ensure a balanced approach to learning throughout the school year.

Helping you get to know me and my journey to join the school board.

Pictured here, is me on the day I earned my Doctorate in Occupational Therapy. I have worked with children for many years across various settings. Today, I work with children who have special needs and it is truly the highlight of my career.

As a member of the school board, I plan to be a voice and advocate for all children, but especially those who too often fall through the cracks of society. I want to do my best to ensure that our district is meeting the needs of our students while helping them achieve their goals and dreams.
