๐พ Save this if fear is making the decision harder
๐ค Share this with someone considering knee replacement
If I had canceled my knee replacement...
I'd still be afraid to walk too far.
Still worried about traveling.
Still avoiding low chairs.
Still saying "maybe next time" to working in my garden.
Still missing moments with my dog.
Still planning my life around pain.
Fear almost won.
Because the truth is...
I wasn't just afraid of surgery.
I was afraid of the unknown.
Afraid of recovery.
Afraid of making the wrong decision.
But what I didn't realize at the time was that my knee pain was already taking things away from me.
My freedom.
My confidence.
My ability to say "yes" without thinking twice.
Little by little, my world was getting smaller.
And I kept telling myself I could live with it.
Until I couldn't.
Today?
I travel.
I walk farther.
I enjoy the things I used to avoid.
And most importantly...
I got my life back.
Not overnight.
Not without hard work.
But I got it back.
If you're scared right now, that's normal.
A lot of us were.
But sometimes the biggest risk isn't moving forward.
It's staying stuck where you are.

๐ Comment GUIDE for my week-by-week recovery timeline
๐ค Send this to someone going home from surgery soon
๐ฌ Tell me what surprised you most about the first night home?
Nobody warned me about the first night home after knee replacement. ๐
The hospital sends you home.
And suddenly it's just you.
Your leg feels heavy.
Sleep feels impossible.
And fear quietly settles in.
But here's what I wish someone had told me:
Night 1 is the hardest.
Not because something is wrong
But because your body just went through something major.
And every night after that?
A little easier.

๐ฌ Where are you in your knee journey right now? Pre-surgery, recovery, or somewhere in between? This is how a knee replacement book should work. ๐
'The book's structure is excellent. After reading it through, I found myself returning to the recovery section for both encouragement and a reality check!'
โ Jeanne M.
Not just a book you read once before surgery.
A book you return to.
At week 2 when sleep feels impossible.
At month 3 when you're wondering if you're behind.
At month 9 when recovery still isn't quite what you expected.
Each section meets you where you are.
And gives you exactly what you need right now.

๐ค Send this to someone at this stage who's wondering if they're behind
๐ฌ If you're at month 3 right now what's the hardest part?
What month 3 of knee replacement actually feels like. The honest version. ๐
The good news:
Walking feels more natural.
You're saying YES to things again.
Confidence is quietly returning.
The part nobody posts:
Your knee still swells after a long outing.
Stiffness in the morning is still real.
PT is getting harder because it should be.
What Dr. Sinha says at month 3:
'Go forth and prosper. Try what you feel comfortable doing. But budget time to ice and elevate your muscles are still adapting to your new knee.'
What's actually normal:
โ Knee still warm (scar maturation not a problem)
โ Clicking (it fades)
โ Still needing anti-inflammatories (about a third of people do, long-term)
The mindset that helps:
Stop measuring by the calendar.
Start measuring by what you can do today vs. 30 days ago.

๐พ Save this before knee replacement surgery
๐ค Share this with someone preparing for surgery
There are 3 things I REALLY wish I understood before knee replacement surgery.
Number 1โฆ
Recovery is measured in MONTHS
Not weeks
Nobody really prepares you for the mental side of that
You start asking yourself:
โWhy am I still swollen?โ
โWhy am I still stiff?โ
And when you expect recovery to move faster than it does
Every difficult day feels scary
But healing after knee replacement takes time
Number 2โฆ
I thought I prepared enough before surgery
I didnโt
Looking back
More quad strength would have helped me SO much more than I realized
Getting stronger BEFORE surgery matters
Because recovery is harder when you go into surgery already weak
And number 3โฆ
I waited too long
I kept pushing through the pain
Delaying the decision
Trying to โjust live with itโ
And eventuallyโฆ
What could have been one knee replacement
Became BOTH knees
Looking back
I wish I understood all of this sooner
Not to scare people
But to help them feel more prepared and less overwhelmed

๐ค Send this to someone doing recovery alone, they don't have to
๐ฌ Who has been YOUR biggest support during recovery? At 65, Kathryn's knee nearly collapsed before surgery.
Three months into recovery, she said this: ๐
'Having Diana as a third-party sounding board and rehab coach has been so beneficial. She was able to give me guidance as to what to expect next and practical tips for travel and other unknowns.'
โ Kathryn B., 3 months post-op
A third-party sounding board.
That's exactly what's missing for most people in recovery.
Not your surgeon, they have 20 patients a day.
Not your family, they're too worried.
Not Google, too many horror stories.
Someone who has been through it.
Who can say 'this is normal' and mean it.

๐ฌ What's the first thing you want to do when you get there?6 months after knee replacement. ๐
I walked into a store today.
Without thinking about my knee once.
Month 1: every step was a calculation.
Month 2: stairs were my nemesis.
Month 3: first time I forgot about my knee for an hour.
Month 6: walked into a store. Didn't think about it once.
That moment.
That's what you're working towards.
Not perfection.
Not zero pain.
Just walking in without it being the first thing on your mind.
That's the goal.
And you will get there.

๐ฌ If you've read the book what section did you come back to most?
This is what a knee replacement book should actually do. ๐
'Each time I revisit sections of the book, I feel reassured that my experience is typical and that recovery takes time. I love the balance between Diana's empathetic personal storytelling and Dr. Sinha's clear medical analysis. Their combined perspectives the secret sauce.'
