What does it really take to build a career as a working artist?🎨🖼️

Join Career Works, the School of Media & the Arts, and Critical Identity Studies for a conversation with Steven Shik, this year’s Ginsberg Family Artist in Residence. Based in Detroit, Shik’s work explores identity, cultural origins, and personal narrative through painting and drawing.

In this session, he’ll share how he began his creative journey and how he balances studio practice with building a sustainable career in the arts. If you're interested in creative careers, professional art practice, or the realities of working as an artist, this conversation offers valuable insight.
