Classmates,
Mark your calendar. Save the date. Spread the word and make your plans to travel to the Sportspage Bar–Grill & Venue, LLC in Belmont on Wednesday, October 7th so that you can be there before noon.
Additionally, check back on this Face Book page periodically between now and 10/07/2026 to discover up-dates, changes or specific’s that may not be included in this first post. Also, you are encouraged to use the comments feature for all to see and respond to. We make no guarantee that we will get this all correct from the beginning and we are fairly certain that something will be forgotten along the way because, after all, we are all close to 80 at this point so manage your expectations accordingly please.

Our plan is to conduct a middle of the day gathering on a week-day so as to avoid night driving and our weekends are often busy with family activities. Additionally, those of us involved in the planning of this are “Retirement Busy” as well. With that in mind, be aware that we do not plan to mail out much in the way of communications, RSVP stuff, pre-registration materials and so on, but we will do as much electronically as we are capable of, which is limited as well.

Yes, there will be food. Again, visiting, reminiscing, storytelling and getting reacquainted is the emphasis, but we will have a buffet luncheon (noonish) as well, so tune in to the FB page periodically to learn about that, the menu, cost, payment plan, etc.

We will be sending this post/page out as an email (or text message) to those of you whom we have addresses/numbers for. If you believe we don’t have your current email address or text #, send an email to……………… [email protected] If you want to communicate by text, use the following: 608-732-5729. Likewise, we do need a head count for the buffet so please confirm your attendance via either of the above means ASAP, but no later than Sept. 30.

Classmate Larry Wills is reporting that Don McCarville passed away yesterday, July 4th. after a long battle with cancer. Rest in peace Don.

Dear Classmates,
We are deeply saddened to inform you of the passing of our classmate, Mark Moody.
A celebration of Mark's life will take place at the Sports Page on Saturday April 18, 2026 from 1 to 4 pm.

For several years, Dick Buss and Dan Kilpatrick, both alumni of Belmont High School's Class of 1966, have been reuniting at their granddaughter's basketball games on a regular basis. Seniors Rowan Klesmit #11 and Ellie Buss #21 and the Neenah Rocket team won the D1 Regional Championship last week with a win over Menominee Falls and will meet up with Pewaukee on Thursday in the Sectional matchup.

Ellie and Rowan have each scored over 1000 points in their Highschool Varsity career and both have committed to scholarship University teams in the fall.

Sad news classmates! Butch Bockhop's wife Peggy passed away last Friday.

Margaret Peggy Bockhop, 77, of Belmont, Wisconsin, died on Friday, November 21, 2025. Funeral services will be at 1100 AM, Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at the Peace Lutheran Church, Belmont. It’s with a sad heart that we report we have lost another classmate.
Yesterday we learned Carolyn Burns Masbruch passed away this past Friday. (September 19, 2025)

Carolyn's Funeral will be held at the Melby Funeral Home in Platteville at 11:00am Wednesday September 24, 2025. The visitation will be from 4:00pm to 7:00pm on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at Melby Funeral home in Platteville as well.

It’s with a sad heart that we learn we have lost another classmate.
I received a phone call this morning from Peace Lutheran Church in Belmont that Ron DeBuhr passed away yesterday afternoon. (Sunday 06/21/2025)

Arrangements are pending at Melby Funeral home in Platteville.

Prayers for Jean and the DeBuhr family as it’s been a hard few months after the earlier heart attack this Spring.🙏

Jim Acherman (Belmont High School Math Teacher) passed away April 29. He was an excellent math teacher and was well liked by all. He was a long time resident of Callamine and served on the township board for over 45 years. Funeral arrangements will be available at Ericson’s, Darlington.
