👏🏻Please welcome Mr. Ray Rateno to the Jets family. He will be our new middle school principal. 👏🏻
Mr. Ray Rateno is excited to be returning to Ohio education after 4 years as an administrator in West Virginia. Prior to his time as an administrator he was an Intervention Specialist, assistant football coach and head track coach in North East Ohio. When not in school he enjoys traveling and spending time outdoors with his wife, Kristen and their two dogs. He is an avid Cleveland and Ohio state sports fan and enjoys woodworking as a hobby. Mr. Rateno is looking forward to a this new adventure as a Union Local Jet. ✈️

👏🏻Please welcome Cheyenne Westlake, Union Local Elementary School’s new 5th grade team member. Cheyenne is very excited to continue her teaching career at Union Local. She graduated from St. Clairsville High School and was a member of the cheering squad. She attended college at Wheeling Jesuit University and graduated in 2009. After graduation, Cheyenne taught at St. Clairsville and coached Jr. High cheerleading. When she is not in the classroom she enjoys hiking, kayaking, biking and anything else outdoors. She also loves getting lost in a good book. Cheyenne is looking forward to this upcoming school year and starting her journey as a Jet! ✈️

👏🏻Please welcome Mr. Tom Daley, Union Local High School’s new principal! Mr. Daley is looking forward to the opportunity to work with the students, parents, staff and community of Union Local. He has 21 years of experience as a coach, teacher and principal. Outside of school, Mr. Daley enjoys watching sports, exercising, golfing and spending time with his wife Julie and daughters Grace (9) and Lily (5).

👏🏻Please welcome Zach Heslop, a new intervention specialist at Union Local High School. Zach graduated from Union Local in 2008. He obtained his Master’s Degree in Special Education from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in May 2022 and his final teaching certifications from the Ohio State University in January 2023. Zach has served in a variety of roles at UL since December 2017. He has been the throwing coach for the track team the last 5 years. Out of school, Zach enjoys spending time with his wife and children. He is a huge fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Zach is very excited to officially be a part of the Union Local team. It has been a dream come true for him and his family. Go Jets!
