May was Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, and it was truly an honor to be part of so many meaningful events throughout the month. A heartfelt thank you to Arts & Humanities Bainbridge, Asian .humanities.bainbridge , Asian Arts Heritage Festival .arts.heritage.festival and Stephanie Reese for making these valuable opportunities possible! Also a special thank you to Micaela .short.soprano for your beautiful singing — your voice truly touched our hearts. 🎶

We were blessed with amazing weather and so many visitors — such a joyful and memorable day. ✨

We were truly honored to be part of Japanese Heritage Night. .arts.heritage.festival It was also such a wonderful experience to collaborate for the first time with the amazing singer Micaela Omoto .short.soprano Thank you so much!

“Hana Subete no Hito no Kokoro ni Hana wo” is a song carrying a prayer for peace — a message of blooming flowers of love and hope in our hearts after overcoming war and sorrow.

The lyrics, “Cry, laugh, and live as you are,” gently remind us that it is okay to grieve, to feel deeply, and to move forward in our own way. Even after sadness, one day, the flower of hope will bloom in our hearts.

『花〜すべての人の心に花を〜』は、戦争や悲しみを乗り越えた先に、愛と希望の“花”を心に咲かせようという平和への祈りが込められた曲です。
「泣きなさい 笑いなさい」という歌詞には、悲しい時は涙を流し、ありのままの自分で前を向いて生きていけば、いつか希望の花が咲く――そんな優しく力強いメッセージが込められています。

Local Asian American artists, authors, poets, and performers take center stage to share pieces from Their Story, Their Glory, and Their Struggle. Presented as a series of 10-minute vignettes, the performances offer a range of personal narratives and perspectives, inviting audiences to listen, reflect, and engage with stories drawn from lived experience and shared with the community.

Awesome reunion with Mayumi Harada —an author, translator, singer-songwriter, vocal trainer, and vocal producer who also taught at UV Performing Arts 🎶✨ - as well as Michael , such a talented actor and musician🥁- and Julian , also an incredible actor and musician, who performed in the School of Rock national tour cast… even in Seattle!! 🎹🤘🎸

Thank you all for such a wonderful, inspiring, and heartwarming time. ❤️
