What's better than some GAB stories? Lots of GAB stories!

It's one of my favorite days of the year. 🥰 Gathering current and former Guided Autobiography students for a morning of sharing stories, connecting with fellow life-story writers and having fun is one of the most meaningful experiences I can share.

Guided Autobiography (or "GAB" for short) is a meaningful way to begin. Meet once a week and write two pages at a time. No prior writing experience is necessary.

Hello! I'm Amy Chen, a Guided Autobiography instructor in the Seattle area. I started this platform to explain more about what I do as an instructor and hoped to share how meaningful the GAB process can be.

I had a dream of sharing Guided Autobiography with students of all ages, and thus GAB Seattle was created. I'm the lead instructor and currently offer Guided Autobiography at Bellevue College as an 8-week course.

I credit being a GAB student first before becoming an instructor for really informing how I teach. I took my first class when my son was born, thinking two pages a week sounded manageable and a few hours at class might be a welcome break too. Little did I know how much I would come to love that class.. or how quickly time flies--my son is 10 now!

Becoming a Guided Autobiography instructor has been such a life gift and I wouldn't have gotten here without the help of others.

Before becoming an instructor I was a GAB student for many years and my instructor Pam Hueckel was such an amazing example for me to follow. During my instructor certification, I had and Heidi Thorsen, and the incomparable Cheryl Svensson to teach me. Emma was always a guiding light as I was getting started.

I'm so thankful for these individuals as they helped me expand my Guided Autobiography practice in the Seattle area.
