Belleville Piano Studio is excited to be able to start offering "In-Home" piano lessons!

Currently, space and times are very limited. I can travel to your home for lessons Monday-Friday, 9am-2pm.

If you're homeschooling, this is the perfect chance to add piano into your curriculum. Work from home? I can now meet you on your lunch hour. Have a preschooler? I'd love to get them started with music! I accept students as young as 3 years old.

Having a piano at home is required and there is an additional travel fee. Currently servicing Belleville, Sumpter, Willis, New Boston, Ypsi, Canton, Romulus, and areas in between.

I'm happy to announce a winter session of our 10-week classes!

Starting after the New Year, I’m offering a winter session for piano lessons, ages 3 to Adults. This is in addition to our year-round programs.

For the young beginners, they’ll be introduced to the piano and get to play a few percussive instruments as we work to understand rhythm and how to play with our fingers.

For the older kids and adults, you’ll be walking away with a basic knowledge of music that will set you up with a foundation that will allow you to continue to study on your own (if you desire ☺️).
These 10 weeks are a great way to try something new or touch up on skills you already have.

Practicing what I preach on a daily basis!

Spent about an hour at the piano this morning to learn 8 measures of music lol

Things I did that I tell all my students:

1. Practiced one hand at a time first.

2. FOLLOWED FINGER NUMBERINGS

3. Practiced in small chunks. I did this 4 measures at a time.

4. When I was comfortable with my right hand, I practiced only my left hand and then brought them together 4 measures as a time.

5. Wasn’t afraid to write on my music! It helps you pick the new skill so much easier because you aren’t racking your brain that you’re supposed to be playing a “B”.

6. Took breaks. Shook my hands out. Played some warm ups to loosen up my hands after they started to tighten.

This song is a beast of a song but I’m happy to at least have the first 8 measures worked!

Great job to my students who were a part of Belleville’s Band-o-Rama!

It was wonderful chance to get to see you all play, no matter what grade you’re in. Thank you so much to the school and the directors for putting this together for the community.

The kids love having a music room and I’m so happy to be able to teach and give them this experience.

Although I think 1 is just a little young to start lessons, I do think Elijah may have some percussion in his future!

Talking about blinking and missing them grow up!

Little Miss Isla has been with Belleville Piano Studio since we opened and not only has she grown so much, she just completed her second book! She finished her first in October.

She is only 5 years old and knows long and short notes, can count in 4/4 time, and is playing her parts in the music independently.

New Xylophone is Madeleine approved 🥰

As the studio grows, I’ve been wanting to add more percussion instruments to help with the learning process.

Playing Marimba all through school, I’ve always wanted one of those but where would I put it? lol

However, when we’re working on rhythm and musicality, this xylophone is going to be perfect.

Every day after my regularly scheduled lessons and before, and sometimes after, dinner, she asks to play piano.

She gets out her book and the metronome, we work on a few songs, and then she lets me play for awhile.

The metronome or as she calls it, her “watch”, might be one of her favorite things. She cranks it up to 200 and just lets it click away, playing a version of “red light green light” with me playing.

I remember playing with ours growing up, sliding the weight down and trying to get it to go super fast and then all the way up to the top to have it go suppperrrr slow.

She knows this is the “piano room” and loves getting to be apart of the music.

She turns 3 on Saturday and has already learned so much 🥰
