Last week, the Belleville Beginners PreK program was honored, along with the other original NJPIEP demonstration sites for creating PreK classrooms that are accessible to all learners. This distinction is a symbol of the collaboration with the Special Services Department. Our job as educators is to set up environments in which the probability of individual success is most-likely. To help our families stay connected to our Belleville Beginners PreK over the summer and into next school year, we are launching a fun, new project called PreK Butterfly Adventures.

Each Belleville Beginners PreK student (including our newly accepted students) will receive a laminated butterfly to take on their travels. Families are encouraged to take photos with their butterflies and tag our program on social media. Throughout next school year, students can bring their butterflies to school to share their adventures with their classmates. We are looking forward to seeing everywhere that our students visit and gain experiences - both locally and any summer vacations.

***Our current students will receive their butterfly logos from their teachers either during Moving Up Ceremonies, or before the end of the school year. Newly accepted students can pick up their butterflies at the Belleville Children’s Library, Registration, or at our Office of Early Childhood at 567 Franklin Ave. in Belleville.

We will use the hashtag on our posts to share the experiences of our Belleville Beginners community.
