I am excited to announce the beginning of an incredible journey—Pippi's Promise, what I hope to be a nonprofit organization that I envision growing into an Animal Assisted Educational and Therapy program serving Antrim and possibly surrounding counties in the future. However, I need your help and guidance to bring this vision to life, if you have experience in forming nonprofits I would greatly appreciate your help, advice and insights! I know I can go through a lawyer for this but sadly I would need to fundraise for that route so I figured I would see if someone in our community could help with formation. My main goal is to bring Animal Assisted Educational Therapy into our schools, but I would also offer workplace Therapy Dog visits!
🐾 What is Animal Assisted Education?
Animal Assisted Education (AAE) integrates animals into educational settings to enhance learning and support emotional, cognitive, and social development. This involves using trained animals to assist in teaching and therapeutic activities in schools, libraries, and therapy centers.
🐶 How Animal Assisted Education Can Benefit Our County:
Improved Learning Outcomes: Animals in the classroom can boost students' motivation, focus, and engagement, leading to better reading skills, comprehension, and retention. I plan on attending School Board Meetings over the summer in an attempt to get a Therapy Dog into our schools, if not full time like some surrounding counties, then at least once in awhile
Emotional Support and Stress Reduction: Animals provide comfort and companionship, helping to alleviate anxiety, stress, and feelings of isolation—beneficial for students facing emotional or behavioral challenges.
