We had a wonderful recital at the end of July to conclude our summer piano lessons! ☀️ I'm so proud of each student's hard work this summer! They all performed beautifully and had a great time sharing their music! 🎶

At the end of the performances, we played a game called "Guess That Composer!" which tied into our summer theme of historical composers. Students learned about a composer at each lesson and group class! 🎼

We finished our summer season with a fun celebration at Young's Dairy the next day! 🍦

We have a NEW studio piano!!! 🎉🎹

This is a professional upright piano called a Yamaha U2! The sound is rich and a HUGE upgrade from our studio's previous Kimball spinet piano.

The difference in this piano will allow students to develop better technique, musicality, and enjoy playing so much more. The students have already told me they feel a difference!

I'm looking forward to starting off the academic year even better with this beautiful piano and I'm very grateful for this blessing! 🥰

Homeschool Music Class Registration is NOW OPEN! 🎵

I'm excited to announce that registration for the Homeschool Music Class at Sunrise Prelude Piano Studios is officially open for Fall 2026!

This class introduces students to the foundations of music through fun, hands-on activities. Students will explore rhythm, singing, music reading, instrument families, movement, and creative music-making in a supportive small-group environment.

🎶 Program Details
• Starts the week of August 18
• Tuesday & Thursday morning class options
• Weekly 50-minute classes
• Ages 6–12
• No prior musical experience or instrument required
• Small group classes (4–8 students)
• Hands-on learning through games, activities, and music exploration
• End-of-semester class performances

💲 Tuition: $60/month + Annual Registration Fee

Spots are limited to maintain small class sizes, so register today to reserve your student's place!

These students had so much fun at our group class creating a Classical Periods & Composers Timeline craft! 🎨🎶

They learned where different composers fit into history and enjoyed seeing how music evolved throughout the centuries. Students learned about these major musical periods:
• Renaissance (1400–1600) (not pictured)
• Baroque (1600–1750)
• Classical (1750–1820)
• Romantic (1820–1900)
• Modern (1900–Present)

Each summer, our studio chooses a theme that we incorporate into private lessons and group classes. This summer’s theme is composers, and students have been learning about new historical composers each week!

Some of the composers they’ve explored include J.S. Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, and many more. Through interactive activities, fun slideshows, and hands-on projects, students are discovering the stories behind the music they play. 🎼

I’ve included pictures of the completed timelines created by my students. They were so proud of their work, and they truly enjoyed learning!

Did you know young pianists often need a footstool with pedal extenders?

When a child’s feet are left dangling, it can affect their posture, balance, and technique. A footstool with pedal extenders allows them to sit comfortably with proper posture while reaching the pedals naturally.

Our studio now has one for our little Mozarts! They’re always excited to use the pedals, and now they can do so comfortably without sliding to the edge of the bench.

My goal is to continue creating a learning environment that’s designed for every student’s success. 💛
