This morning, we came together as a school community to start the year off together at our Opening School Assembly. At the assembly, we discussed our theme this year, ("Connected in Christ") went over some of our expectations, learned our new school prayer, practiced this year's school song, and came together to sing "Awesome God." We can't wait to have an amazing year with each and every one of you, Raiders!

This summer, Kindergarten teacher Mrs. Amador slowed down. She spent time in nature, soaked in the beauty around her, and cherished moments with her friends. It was a season of rest, gratitude, and simple joys that reminded her of what matters most. We can't wait to have a great year with you, Mrs. Amador!

This summer, first grade teacher Miss Dusek spent a lot of time traveling to exciting places! She was fortunate to be able to go to Greece with her family and see all of the amazing sites of the ancient city. Miss Dusek stopped by Kelley’s Island to hang out with Miss O’Malley and some of her friends. Finally, she ended her summer at her lake house in Canada! She is so excited to hear about all the Saint Raphael students did this summer and can’t wait for another great school year! We can't wait to see you soon, Miss Dusek!

Third grade teacher Mrs. Karnatz had a wonderful summer traveling to Ireland. Some of the places she visited were Dublin, Cork, Kinsale, Di**le, and Galway. While there, she held a baby sheep, saw The Lumineers in concert, and took a boat ride along the coast of Kinsale. Once back in the states, she continued her love of live music by seeing Mumford and Sons at Wrigley Field and Marcus King in Buffalo and Pittsburgh. But of all the things she did this summer, the BEST thing she did was spend a lot of time with her sweet baby granddaughter, Sloan. Mrs. Karnatz can't wait to meet her new students and welcome back former students. We can't wait to see you next week, Mrs. Karnatz!

This summer, Art teacher Mrs. Whitehead had a really fun family reunion by the Lake. See if you can find her and Cooper, who you may not recognize because he is no longer the tiny adopted puppy in the photo she shared with you two years ago! (Clue: he’s the shy one up front 😊). Mrs. Whitehead can't wait to see everyone next week, and we can't wait to see you soon, Mrs. Whitehead!!!
