Today our little learners enjoyed a creative visit from Sister Etches, a small business owned by a sister duo creating personalized wedding, home decor, keepsakes, and gifts for ALL occasions! ✨
They brought in beautiful wooden pieces for the children to paint and decorate, allowing our students to express their creativity while learning about craftsmanship and design.
Hands-on activities like this encourage imagination, strengthen fine motor skills, and introduce children to the many creative careers that exist in our communities 🎨.
We love giving our little learners opportunities to explore new skills while connecting with local businesses!

Our little learners had the opportunity to explore the world of skincare and self-care with a special visit from a licensed esthetician Brenda Louis-Jean🧴✨
Brenda showed the children some of the tools and products estheticians use to help people take care of their skin and feel confident. The children were excited to participate in a hands-on demonstration and learn about the importance of keeping our skin clean and healthy.
Activities like this introduce children to different careers while encouraging curiosity and confidence as they learn about the world around them!

Today we had the honor of welcoming Chef Bernard Clovis Pierre for Black History Month 👨🏾🍳
Chef Bernard has been in the kitchen since 2013. He owned and operated his own restaurant in Haiti for over five years, served more than five years as Military Police, and later worked at Le Café and the Barclays Center for three years each. You can follow his culinary journey on his personal Instagram page, . He is also a proud father to his daughter.
He spent the day cooking with our little learners, teaching them how to make French toast while sharing his journey 🍞.
Cooking builds confidence, strengthens fine motor skills, encourages teamwork, and introduces early math and life skills — all while having fun.
Moments like this turn learning into real-life experience.
In celebration of Black History Month, we were honored to welcome Dr. Eliezer into our classroom 🥼🤎
She gave our little learners a hands on look at what they may see during doctor appointments so those visits feel familiar instead of frightening.
The children were introduced to real medical tools like the 🩺:
• Otoscope
• Ophthalmoscope
• Reflex hammer
• Stethoscope
• Blood pressure cuff
• Tongue depressor
• Even how “shots” (saline flushes) work
By seeing these tools up close and learning what they’re used for, our children are building comfort and confidence before they ever sit in an exam room.
We are so grateful to Dr. Eliezer for taking the time to educate, empower, and pour into our children all the way from Stamford, CT!

Greater Grace Daycare is looking for community partners! 🌟
This February, we are celebrating Black History Month by highlighting the incredible professionals in our own neighborhood. We are looking for volunteers from all fields—Engineering, Business, Healthcare, Arts, and more—to share a bit about what they do with our students.
What to expect:
✅ A short, kid-friendly talk.
✅ A simple activity or storytelling session.
✅ A chance to make a lasting impact!

Snow much fun! ❄️🌋
We brought the snow inside for sensory fun on our snow day! We built snowmen then watched our "snow-canoes" erupt with color. We loved every chilly second!
