I need to talk to the ones who pray in the middle of the night for people who will never know they were prayed for.

Not the ones who post their prayer requests publicly. Not the ones who announce that they are interceding. The ones who wake up at 2am with a name on their heart and a heaviness they cannot explain and they do not reach for their phone and they do not go back to sleep. They get on their knees. In the dark. In the quiet. With no witness but God and no agenda but the person whose name will not leave them alone until they have prayed it through.

Nobody gave you that assignment. Nobody put it on a schedule. Nobody will ever send you a thank you note for what you did in that dark room at 2am. The person you prayed for will wake up in the morning and feel an unexplainable peace and never know where it came from. The situation you stood in the gap for will shift and the people involved will call it coincidence and never know it was intercession. The family you covered will experience a protection they cannot account for and attribute it to luck and never know it was a prayer warrior on their knees in the middle of the night refusing to let go until the burden lifted.

But Daniel 10 records an angel appearing to Daniel and telling him that from the first day Daniel set his heart to understand and humbled himself before God his words were heard and the angel was dispatched because of his words. Because of his words. The prayer of an intercessor dispatches angels. The prayer of an intercessor releases what heaven has already decided to do but waits for a yielded vessel on earth to authorize through agreement. James 5:16 says the prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working. The word working there in the Greek is the word energeo it is active, it is operational, it is producing energy in the unseen realm that will produce results in the seen realm.

You are not just praying. You are activating angelic assignments. You are enforcing heavenly verdicts. You are doing work in the spirit that has consequences in the natural that will outlast your lifetime.

The most strategic person in any spiritual battle is the one nobody sees on their knees in a dark room refusing to quit. Comment WIN26 if you want my 30 day devotional on how to win in spiritual warfare.

Under God’s Authority

“For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, He also has rejected you from being king." 1 Samuel 15:23.

King Saul had one of the greatest opportunities of a lifetime. He was the first King of Israel. He was not from a royal family yet he was a farmer who became a King. God anointed him and placed a crown upon his head, positioned him on a royal throne, and gave him fine chariots and royal robes. He had a golden scepter, a kingly armor, and mighty weapons. He was a great warrior and loved by his people. The power and wealth of the world was his but he lacked the greatest gift of all – a pure heart before God.

He was a man of authority who was not under God’s authority. Others obeyed him, but he disobeyed God. He was a Lord on Earth without a Lord in heaven. He was ruling a nation without the power to rule his own soul, emotions, impulses, and actions. This great king on Earth needed to humble himself before the greater King of kings in heaven.

Pride eventually invaded his heart and found its resting place. With pride in his heart, he activated a kingdom principle: “Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.” Proverb 16:18. King Saul was eventually rejected by God as the King of Israel and eventually destroyed himself. Humility is the key to God’s glory and the power that keeps us in God’s continued favor. God will never reject you as you keep your heart humble and always ready for His mercy and saving grace.

Kingdom Declaration:
I submit to God’s authority even as He has given me His authority to serve Him.
