What happens when you take the traditions of single malt Scotch whisky and create whisky at locations around the globe? ��

This week on Scotch on the Bayou, we're going Across the Globe in Single Malt! We'll start with a familiar benchmark—Deanston 12 Year Old—to establish what we expect from a classic Scotch single malt. Then we'll put that baseline to the test as we taste single malts from Ireland, Norway, Iceland, France, India, New Zealand, and Taiwan.

We'll explore how climate, terroir, maturation, cask choices, production methods, and local traditions can influence the whisky in our glass. Is a single malt from Taiwan anything like a single malt from Scotland? Does India's heat dramatically change maturation? What does Norwegian or Icelandic whisky taste like?

Most importantly, we'll taste them side-by-side and see just how much "Scotch-like" character survives when single malt whisky travels around the world.

Dolly shined brighter than any rhinestone that graced her clothes. She was bigger than her trademark blonde locks. Dolly never apologized for who she was and accepted ALL for who they are. She was kind and generous. Her voice and songs were a blessing to all.
She made an immense impact on literacy, not only here in Tennessee -her home- but across the country.
Dolly was a force of nature we will never see again. But everyday we can do something for others, something Dolly would do.
Be kind. Be generous. Be like Dolly.
We will always love you.

It's a sin... the number of samples I have.
Tonight I will try to repent a bit and enjoy a few samples 🥃🥃🥃🥃 that have been stashed for too long. Do you have a pile? I have so many that I have a spreadsheet! Yikes! 😜🥃
I don't mean for them to stack up. They are all appreciated and I feel it's important to close the gifting circle and tell the gift giver how you enjoyed them, ya know?
Whisky is for sharing. We share whisky to ensure others get to experience something new and different.
