My name is Ryan Barker, and I am currently a junior. I have interned with both Murphy Oil Corporation and Hilcorp, and I will be returning to Murphy this summer as an offshore drilling intern. I also work in LSU’s Surfactant EOR Lab. As SPE President, I want to strengthen the connection within our student community and create more opportunities for members to interact with oil and gas companies and build valuable industry connections.

I currently serve as the SPE Student Representative and am actively involved in the American Association of Drilling Engineers (AADE), the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), and Women in Business (WIB). For the 2026–2027 year, my goals include increasing outreach, strengthening mentorship opportunities, and enhancing overall member engagement. I have previously gained valuable industry experience through a production internship last summer and will continue to build my technical expertise with a reservoir engineering internship this upcoming summer. Additionally, I contribute to CO₂ well monitoring research at LSU on behalf of our grad students, further expanding my experience in both energy development and sustainability.

My name is Nicolas Manica, and I am a sophomore at LSU serving as the 2026–27 SPE Treasurer. Since my freshman year, I have tried to stay engaged on campus by participating in SPE and other organizations. I have also served as Outreach Chair for SHPE, where I helped organize events and connect with industry professionals. As Treasurer, I hope to improve my money management skills while supporting the chapter. I believe this experience will help me grow and prepare for my long-term goal of working in reservoir engineering.

As Social Media Chair, I want to make SPE a space where the digital and real world connect. My goal is to build a platform that shares opportunities, simplifies technical content, and expands our network. With experience in creative direction and AADE social media, I’m excited to bring a more engaging and inclusive approach.

I am excited for this upcoming year to work with this great group! Participation is important, and I look forward to increasing our numbers through department-wide engagement. SPE has given so much to me, and I cannot wait to pass that onto others!

Hello, my name is Brandon Ferguson and I am so excited to be your 2026 Junior Student Representative! I cannot wait to work hard on your behalf to inspire growth and build legacy. My main goal for this upcoming year is to increase participation and retention from all engineers.
