Redesign Schools Louisiana serves students and families at Lanier Elementary School and Dalton Elementary School Pre-K through 8th grade.

Parents! We are still enrolling students at Dalton Elementary and Lanier Elementary! Still time to choose a better way to learn. 🎒

At Redesign Schools Louisiana, our scholars receive the same instructional time as students in traditional schools. The difference is our balanced calendar, which spreads breaks throughout the year instead of saving them all for one long summer.

What a joy it was to welcome our newest Panther families to Dalton Elementary! 🎒💜 Our littlest learners got to meet their teachers, explore their classrooms, and take those exciting first steps into their school year.

Shoutout to Ms. Layosa, Mr. Murray, and Ms. Black, who recently attended the state ELA Standards Institute! They dug deep into the Louisiana ELA standards and explored how those standards come to life in our curriculum.

Their learning does not stop with them. We look forward to having them redeliver everything they gained to our full team at our next professional development session. Way to go, team!

Welcome back! RSL is now in session and welcoming new and returning scholars.

Start early and enjoy family breaks throughout the year. With our balanced calendar, scholars receive the same amount of classroom time as their peers in traditional models while also enjoying a five-week summer break.

Where is the second month of summer vacation, you ask? It is distributed throughout the school year to help reduce summer learning loss and provide families with breaks that align with national holidays, such as Labor Day and Memorial Day, as well as traditional holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas, Halloween, and Mardi Gras.

This is not a year-round school. Rather, it is a balanced calendar designed to support restful breaks throughout the year, giving families opportunities to vacation and spend time together instead of concentrating all family time into the summer months.

☀️We have some exciting news to share. Ms. Albert, Kindergarten Teacher at Dalton Elementary, is a recipient of the Louisiana Resource Center for Educators scholarship!

She is one of just seven educators selected across the entire state for this honor. As she pursues her teacher certification, we are cheering her on every step of the way. Educators like her are exactly what makes our RSL community shine. 🍎

The rain showed up this morning, but so did we! ☔💙 Redesign Schools Louisiana was thrilled to welcome our newest students and families for New Student Orientation at both campuses and nothing could dampen the excitement. 🌟

Families joined us to tour our classrooms, meet our wonderful team, and get ready for an incredible year ahead. 🍎 Thank you to everyone who braved the weather with us. Your commitment to your child's education is exactly the spirit that makes our RSL community shine.

And the moment we have all been waiting for is almost here. The first day of school is TOMORROW! 🎒 We cannot wait to see our students walk through the doors.

👩🏽‍🏫 Mrs. Latoria Izzard, Principal of Lanier Elementary.
15 years in education and a Master of Education from Grand Canyon University.

🍎 Her vision: a student centered culture where every learner is valued, inspired, and empowered through purpose, belief, support, and belonging, so all students achieve excellence and are prepared for success in school, in life, and in their communities. 🌟

👩🏾‍🏫 Ms. Gracie Slack-Turner, Principal of Dalton Elementary. More than 24 years in education! 📚 She holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from Jackson State University, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Relay Graduate School of Education.
