Their work has produced a new speleothem record covering Holocene climate variability in Texas, in conjunction with modelling and other paleoclimate records.
Holocene climate variability in Texas, USA: An integration of existing paleoclimate data and...
Delineating the climate processes governing precipitation variability in drought-prone Texas is critical for predicting and mitigating climate change effects, and requires the reconstruction of past climate beyond the instrumental record. We synthesize existing paleoclimate proxy data and climate si…

The national Landscape Conservation Cooperative program has funded a one-year project entitled “Delivering Information and Tools for Increasing Resilience and Adaptation of Communities and Priority Coastal Resources across the Network of Coastal LCCs”. For the initial Atlantic/Gulf coast component of the program, they are seeking a postdoc or research associate to compile and deliver information and enhance information exchange related to prioritizing restoration and management actions to increase resilience of coastal systems and species. Briefly, the coastal resilience research associate would: establish an Atlantic/Gulf coastal resilience team, compile existing coastal resilience and vulnerability information to inform restoration and management alternatives; identify thresholds or measures of viability for selected species under various sea level rise scenarios that have been identified; identify science needs and information gaps; assess the degree to which nature and nature based restoration approaches contribute to community resilience and priority coastal species or resources; and produce a report, website(s) and data portal(s) to enhance the exchange of information and house the results of their efforts. Office location or telework arrangements will be negotiable and travel to various locations along the Atlantic and Gulf Coasts is anticipated. Reimbursement will be approximately equivalent to a federal service GS-11/12 position.
For more information, contact: Megan Tyrrell, Coastal Resilience Coordinator for the North Atlantic LCC, [email protected].
